I've been enjoying Alebrijes Cafe for years since they've opened but I'm finally getting around to write them a long overdue review. This is a quaint mom-and-pop restaurant. The owners are so nice and welcoming. Once seated, the owner typically offers a lovely pastry (they make them fresh on-site) like a conchita to have with your coffee. I have had their breakfast tacos and tamales, but my go-to order is their chilaquiles verde--it's the best in this area of Dallas that I've had so far (chips stay crispy!). I order it so often that they know my order as soon as I sit down without having to tell them. I now take my little one with me when I have the chance; they know her by name and always make her feel well-cared for and well-fed. Great food and great, friendly service. I'm lucky to have a great place like this in our neighborhood. I wish Alebrijes Cafe many more years of continued success.

This place is incredible.

The food is cooked with so much care and the recipes they use feel like ones they've known for a long time.
You feel at home here. Wonderful service and very fair pricing.

Get the Cafe de Olla with some sweet bread.
It's essential.

If you like spicy food, get the Pollo a la Mexicana. It's my favorite dish so far.

10/10. 5 stars.

Not sure how to start, but it began with excitement due the the nice reviews I saw. So much that I invited a good friend to meet me there and I took my son, it was 3 of us. We were offered homemade pastries during our wait which I loved. Unfortunately I regret going there. The food was not very flavorful, I must admit. My son and I had to add salt to our food which we rarely have to do when eating out. But the disappointment was discovered after I left. My friend paid the gracious lady $20 to deduct from the ticket while I was gone to the restroom. So I unknowingly paid the full amount, with no details of what I was paying for on the receipt. It was a custom amount according to the receipt texted to me. For the 3 of us, the tab came out to $62.24, and after we left, my friend asked me if I was given $20 off and that's when she explained to me what she did. Come to find out, my friend was told that they had applied it towards the tip. For 3 people in a humble environment, mind you 2 of us ate breakfast and the other enchiladas, that tab turned out to be pricey 😞 A total of $82.24.

I am almost happy this place is so underrated… because if the world knew how amazing it is, we’d never be able to get a table! The food is consistently delicious, comforting, and clearly made with love. But what truly sets this place apart is the sweet older lady who owns it. She’s the heart of the restaurant. Always warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. She never lets us leave without some free panesitos and a smile. It feels like visiting family every time we come. This cafe is a rare gem that deserves all the love in the world. It honestly almost feels like if it was my grandmothers cooking in her house. Anyone else giving this place a lower rating than 5 stars needs a palate reset & can’t be trusted. I’ve come here countless times now since I used to live down the street from here & have never been let down nor disappointed. My only con is that the place is not big enough to host more customers.
