I don't know how you make Tex Mex Cocina food taste like unseasoned oatmeal, but these guys pulled it off. A refill on coffee or water would have been cool. But that wasn't in the cards.

The menu contains a lot of good choices. I’ve been going to this restaurant off and on for many years. I wish they had a bit more plant based offerings and I wish that they would either take the pure maple syrup off the menu or keep it in stock the last time I went there I ordered it. They brought me regular syrup, but charge me the up charge for the pure maple as though I wouldn’t notice the difference and then the server had a bit of an attitude about it when I brought it up overall I like this place I’ll just bring my own syrup next time problem solved. My dining companion got the chicken fingers egg, and a pancake, and he liked it even with the syrup snafu. I had wheat toast, avocado slices, and black coffee.

I've been coming to this gem for years! The food is fantastic! Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there is a winner on the menu. The portions are healthy, meaning you better bring your appetite! And the staff is awesome! Stephanie, Pennie, Chloe, Jenn, Kirsten, Donte, Sarah, Claire and the amazing chefs make this place a staple in DeepEllum! The wednesday blue plate is a personal favorite, perfectly herb roasted half chicken and sub the killer mash potatoes for mixed vegetables!

This place has good food, however. I was disappointed when I got there after 8AM and they still weren’t open. I’m not sure why it says they’re open at 8AM if they are going to have their doors locked. It’s upsetting bc not only am I hangry, I’ve been sitting here for 20 mins.
Very disappointed, I as told to wait ten minutes (and I did) it’s now 8:23 and they still haven’t opened the doors. The lady inside is hanging a birthday banner. This is ridiculous!!

Biscuits and gravy were all water, I will never return.
I was the only one in the restaurant, and yet it took the waitresses 8 minutes to take my order. Mom's tuna salad sandwich. It was cut in triangles a whole piece of lettuce. When I tried to lift it and took a bite, it fell apart. The chips were stale. I had to find my waitresses to get my check. There was a 9 piece band warming up a lot of feedback from the speakers. Just when the band was starting, I was leaving.

This place was amazing! I went on a Monday morning. Wasn’t crowded at all. The staff were so friendly and attentive. I ordered the South Austin Migas and my friend ordered the 3 egg omelette. The food was so good. We also order the carafe of mimosas it was so delicious and worth the $15. I loved that they let us get a little of each juice (orange juice, pineapple juice & cranberry juice) for our mimosas. We were able to get 3 1/2 glasses each. Everything was fresh. Would definitely go back.
