Pleasantly surprised by the quality and creativity of the food at this place. Being from Vegas I've eaten at a lot of excellent Japanese restaurants and have usually been a bit disappointed at Japanese restaurants outside of Vegas. The food was innovative and tasty, the service was good, and the ambiance of the restaurant was refreshing as it was more of an upscale American themed restaurant rather than your typical Japanese decor. Would definitely recommend.

This was our first visit and everything about the evening was beyond exceptional. Our waitress, Destiny, was professional and friendly, while serving our drink and food requests in a timely manner and not rushed. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts were extraordinary. We made a special effort to speak to Michael, the manager, to thank him for our wonderful experience. We will be repeat customers.

I do not recommend this restaurant. Besides, they are abusers, they don't want to pay the employees and that's why they leave, and then they go around publishing on the internet that they need workers. The truth is that I can't find a good word for you. I already have it, thieves, that's the word for you. Grief. And shame on them

Our first time to try anchor, and I was really expecting a lot from this restaurant group as we love their other concepts. We sat at our table for almost 15 min before we were greeted, I had to go get the hostess to let her know we didn't have a server. Our server was timid and challenged with taking our order. Food was excellent. More training on approaching the table was needed for our server.

Stumbled upon this Sushi spot. Everything we ordered was delish! It was a new bartender work and the drinks were not very good. Our server was amazing.

Absolutely loved this restaurant and we are looking forward to coming back! Also their ginger mocktail is delicious and the golden roll is super tasty. We ordered about 6 rolls and everything was great.

Wonderful ambiance, like a luxury yacht with highly lacquered wood on the arched ceiling and tables. The steamed pork dumplings were very good, very meaty, but the chili sauce that accompanied them was a bit spicy so we used the ponzu sauce that was on the table. My husband had the orange peel shrimp with fried rice. The rice was good but he didn't care for the batter and spices on the shrimp. I had the sea bass with miso, which I asked for on the side. The miso had a distinctly vinegary taste which makes me wonder if the waiter mentioned to the chef that I did not like miso which is too sweet and the chef added a splash of ponzu to it. The sea bass was so good, perfectly cooked, but was accompanied by one fried leaf of kale in a separate dish as if it was a side vegetable rather than just a garnish. I had a saketini which was ok, but not nearly as good as the ones at Shinsei. Hubby had an ok whiskey sour, not nearly as good as at Brentwood. I asked why our tab had a $3 "open liquor" charge and the waiter said the whiskey sour cocktail had to be mixed with additional ingredients!! Isn't mixing cocktails a bartender's job??

Our party of 6 had a great experience! They accommodated a late request for wheelchair accessibility, which we really appreciated! The ambiance is very cool, featuring a modern but retro “ship” theme! Everything we ordered from drinks to the ahi stacks to several sushi rolls and fried rice was fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious! Our server was amazing and very attentive. Would recommend to anyone looking for sushi in Dallas!

Wonderful evening with our guests. Mary, our Server, was excellent. She was personable, pleasant and attentive. Food and bar service was great! The Ambience suffered with the noise level, to the point it was unpleasant and difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices to compete. We will certainly return but schedule our reservation as early as possible and weekday evening in an attempt to avoid the heightened noise level.

Food was great and bar was great service. Had a reservation but had to wait a while for our table to be ready and just ended up staying at the bar. Food is great but takes longer to come out.

Lovely experience. We enjoyed everything! From the Tuna tacos, shrimp and lobster dumplings to the “the best roll”— everything was top notch. Emily, our server, was very attentive and provided great recommendations.

Absolutely loved everything about Anchor Bar! My boyfriend and I were celebrating Valentines Day, and it was our first time in. We were very impressed. The food, the atmosphere, the drinks, the service. All amazing! Can't wait to go back!

Everything was amazing. The Wagyu was OK. We were amazed to see that Wagyu was only $30 per oz, but when it arrived... it was just OK. But, nothing to write home about and we quickly understood why it was only $30 per oz. Frozen margarita was very good.

Waited an hour plus for our sushi, we have been before and never waited that long even when it was packed which it was not last night. They stated it was due to online orders backing it up but an hour plus for 3 rolls is just insane. Also the manager never came to check in on us and nothing was offered in regards to a comp, drink etc.

Anchor Bar overall is amazing, but if you plan to order sushi be prepared to wait 1-2 *hours* to receive. I've been 2x now (a Fri and a Mon night) and both times have been a similar wait. They quoted us 30mins the first time for sushi (on Fri night) and it was more like an hour. The second time we weren't quoted a time on sushi - it was a Monday didn't think it would be so long - and it was a TWO HOUR wait. The manager comp'd us some crispy rice because we had to wait so long. But order “real food” off the main menu while you wait if you are hungry. One would assume for a sushi restaurant with a dedicated sushi bar they could get the sushi out quickly - but it's not the case. The atmosphere, cocktails and food off the main menu were all incredible. We will be back but we will order sushi right when we sit down in hopes to get it before the 2 hour mark. Just beware of the timing!
