Recently was given above and beyond service by Ryan R. I did not know what to pick and he worked with me on the perfect choice! Will definitely be buying more next time we're traveling! Thank you!
What a nice space - but really cold! Hubby and I went for lunch. The steak sandwich was good, I just wish the steak was in slices rather than pieces that kept falling out. I don't like horseradish so I asked about an alternative but was told that the vinegarette sauce would be enough. It wasn't so if I were to order this sandwich again I'd request extra vinegarette. The fries were nice and crispy, the chocolate croissant was ok but not as soft as I expected it to be. Hubby enjoyed his veggie omelet and sweet potato-yukon hash. He did not like the light roast cofee at all though. Overall we liked Ascension enough to try them again, hopefully when it's cool enough to sit outside.

Love visiting the White Rock location. Each time everything has been great. The hippie grain bowl is so delicious! I ordered takeout today and regret not eating there to sit on the patio with a cocktail.

Being in an old church Ascension has a very cool look and vibe. Only downside is that the inside is small. Meaning it can get loud and you will be close to other tables and people. Food is solid and the latte's are delicious and a large size.
Parking: Parking is tight and it can be difficult to find a spot. There is an apartment complex behind it but they don't like you parking there.

Ah, behold the culinary masterpiece—or perhaps, the culinary catastrophe—that has graced my plate! This waffle, a sad, limp excuse for a breakfast staple, appears to be auditioning for a role in a tragic cooking show. The powdered sugar, bless its heart, seems to have taken a vacation, leaving just a whisper of sweetness that could hardly entice a mouse, let alone a discerning palate. I mean, I’ve seen more snow in Florida than this amount of sugar.
And let’s talk about the chicken. Two scant, desiccated pieces of poultry, clearly plucked from the bottom of the fryer like lost toys at a yard sale. It’s almost as if they were meant to be the sidekick to the waffle but decided to ghost the performance instead. Where's the crispy, juicy delight one craves? Instead, we’re left with two sad, dry remnants that are crying out for hydration, much like a desert traveler in dire need of water.
But wait, there’s more—no syrup! It’s as if they thought, “Why add moisture when we can serve this brunch of a dish as is?” I half-expected to find a note saying, “We’re saving the syrup for a rainy day!” Honestly, if this dish were any more dry, it could double as a firestarter. So, if you’re looking for an experience that combines disappointment with the texture of a kitchen sponge, dive right into this tragedy of a waffle. I won't be ordering this again.

My friend is vegan. We like Ascension because they have options for both of us. Their coffee is good and their staff is knowledgeable. I like to tell them what I'm craving, and they always have good suggestions. Staff is really nice. They let me park at my table between meetings. Overall, this place has a welcoming environment.

I went with friends for brunch and the place was busy but we didn’t wait long for a table. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. The server was very sweet and the food was delicious. We ordered the Churro French Toast, Granola and Vegetable egg omelet. I recommend it all.
Vegetarian options: They offered vegan chorizo on the menu

A fantastic local breakfast spot in a city in dire need of more breakfast options. This place is the complete package: the decor is aesthetically sophisticated, yet tasteful and almost understated. Comfortable, yet large enough to seat parties of significant size—pro tip, there are almost always seats available if you’re willing to sit outside.
And the food is delicious. The Cali Breakfast Burrito is not to be missed, and the sauce that comes on the side is the best part—sweet and savory, it makes a perfect companion for the chorizo, eggs, and avocado. Then wash it down with a cup of good, black coffee, and you’ve got a winning start to your day.

Had a great brunch with friends. The coffee was great (expresso hit a little differently, but still good). Really enjoyed their food. The salmon eggs Benedict with brown-butter hollandaise sauce was phenomenal! Will definitely be back.
