Hands down best Detroit Style pie in the metroplex. Perfectly cooked. These pies are wet, chewy, crispy and freaking delicious. Detroit-style pizza is a rectangular pizza with a thick crust that is crispy and chewy. It is traditionally topped with tomato sauce and Wisconsin brick cheese that goes all the way to the edges. This style of pizza is often baked in rectangular steel trays designed for use as automotive drip pans or to hold small industrial parts in factories. The style was developed during the mid-twentieth century in Detroit before spreading to other parts of the United States in the 2010s. The dish is one of Detroit's iconic local foods.

Their Chicken Venice is outstanding. This is the second time we have been there and we would recommend anything on the menu. The service is great and atmosphere is fun. Each time we visit Dallas we plan on coming back.

We ordered a small deep dish and a medium hand tossed. The deep dish had pools of oil on top. The hand-tossed did not taste completely done (dough seemed undercooked) After eating one slice of these, we felt sick and threw the rest of it away. Will not be back. .

Very delish! Thick buttery crust covered in marinara!! It's @ Alfonso's restaurant ...

Instructions are on the website, there is a side door to Alfonso. Solid Detroit style pizza, best I’ve had in Texas besides Via 313. Pepperoni is the way to go.

I order pick up. No where on the website did it say that the pizza joint was in another restaurant, so I found myself driving around for a while. The pizza looked ok except for the edges were burnt. The pizza itself was bland and the crust so burnt that it cut the roof of my mouth when eating. This place is a poor example of what Detroit Style pizza really is

So confused by this whole situation1. Go to pick up your "Detroit" style pizza there is no big d pizza place, it's Alfonso's2. Go to Alfonsos to pick up you "detroit" style pizza and get a regular pizza.Slightly disappointed, Detroit style pizza it is notPizza style pizza it is.

First know that Big D’s is actually inside Alfonso’s… it’s not a storefront on its own. The Detroit style pizza was very good. If our food had been the pepperoni pizza only, this probably would be a four star review. The crust was crisp and blackened in spots. The pepperoni cups were curled on the edges and everything had really good flavor. What brings the review down was the sausage topping on our other pizza- it was a major let down, dry and bordering flavorless. Not sure what they are using but it doesn’t hold up to the baking process. A crumbled sausage might be better. This maybe seemed like sliced pre-cooked and did not work. The other item we tried was a meatball parmigiana sandwich. Meatballs, marinara and mozzarella were all good, and in good ratios, however the hoagie roll was a bit of a letdown here. Did not seem fresh, and did not stand up to the sauce, becoming soaked through and soggy in spots. Still tasty overall, but not a standout. Based on the pepperoni Detroit alone, this place is worth a visit and the pizza stood up to take out and the drive home.

I love Detroit Style and have been trying all of them in the DFW area. This one rates as the worst. Not true Detroit Style. It is more Just a deep dish Sicilian pizza. Thought it was dry, overcooked and way too expensive. Nothing authentic about it. Not sure why it's Big D ...? It is Alfonsos.!

Yes yes and yes! Detroit Pizza for the win. I grew up in the midwest and absolutely LOVE Detroit style pizza These guys do it right. It has a little bit of Italian flair due to the selection for some of the toppings but overall a solid win.

Really good Detroit style square pizza. Well done crust makes it even better. Healthy portion of toppings too and ratio to dough, which was great as some places skimp on toppings.

Not great....very expensive and not a gem by any means. Domino's pan is $7.99 and its not bad. Jets is fabulous...this pizza is not even close to Jets I'm going to guess that the crust and cheese is pre-cooked and they ad a few toppings and recook it Lots of crust...the crisp edge is good but not very many toppings, it reminds me of a sicilian pizza It looked great and smelled great...I so wanted it to taste great why why why are there no great pizza's in DALLAS

One of the worst pizza! The sauce was not evenly distributed and it was a huge mess! I got bites of pure cheese and no sauce. The crust is super thick but in between the dough felt raw still! No flavor! These reviews must be fake because this pizza sucks! Don't waste your money! It's advertised as a ghost kitchen but there is no signage and it's actually Alfonsos restaurant that you pick it up at! 4 pieces for $16 what a waste! Seriously don't order pizza here it's a joke, it's disgusting!
