Was at Richland College for a workshop, and was hungry. I love burgers so this restaurant caught my attention. Ended up ordering the jalapeno hamburger which was so good! And a side of crispy fries. ???? The front cashier was so nice and kept calling me, "brother" lol. Overall, loved this place and would come back if I am in the area again!

Edit (09/10/2024): I, now, go to Richland as a student and I've just come here today and it's still awesome!!!! The cashier (same guy from last time) is still so nice and makes conversation with you while you wait. He even waited to make my fries so they'd be hot since I ordered over the phone! Love this place!!!! :)

Absolutely dreadful. Smells horrible, especially by the soda fountain. The soda tastes horrible, something like a mix of cleaners and actual soda. My burger was horribly dry and overcooked, with some extra seasoning sprinkled on top that really didn’t compliment the burger.
The fries would’ve been okay but the ketchup on the table was bad too.
Literally the worst burger experience I’ve had. Took one bite and walked out.
Just glad I didn’t find a bandaid in my food at this point.
Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else, you can’t do worse than this.

Come with an appetite!! I got a big island burger and my husband had the hawaiian burger. The burgers are big, super tasty and filling. For me, I did better saving half my burger for later as it was a lot to eat in one sitting.

What has happened at this location? It's a mere shell of its former self...

I haven't been here in maybe 6 months and the quality has gone downhill. What used to be a loaded, hefty, and filling burger is now left spare and wanting.

I ordered the blue cheese bacon burger, add grilled mushrooms and a side of fried pickles.

A couple things, this location used to do pickle spears but now they are pickle chips and $2 more expensive. While you seem to get more chips, the fried pickle spears were amazing. Also, they used to come with buttermilk ranch but now you get a side of shelf stable, heavily preserved and generic industrial ranch dressing.

Absolutely disgusting. Please bring back the buttermilk ranch, it would have been the highlight of my meal.

The burger. Oh dear lord the burger. What a travesty this was. I've ALWAYS ordered the blue cheese bacon burger because the crumbles were plentiful, the bacon was copious and THICC. We're talking a pile of thick cut hickory smoked bacon atop your burger.

Sadly, that seems to not be the case. My burger came with 3 and a quarter slices of BURNT BACON. The blue cheese crumbles are now a smear of some barely recognizable gray matter.

Oh, AND they forgot the mushrooms!

If I wanted to pay $20 to be disappointed, I could have gone to Baby Dolls.

I've been eating burgers all over Dallas for more than a decade and still come back to Burger Island as the best burger on offer. Get yourself a double Island Burger, sub american cheese for blue and you'll have a burger nowhere else can rival.

I've been searching for a good slightly greasy burger for a little while, and I think I found a really good one at burger island. I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries and was impressed. Burger was cooked just right, good veggies, crunchy fries. Will definitely be returning.
