I was sorely disappointed by the restaurant's last-minute cancellation of my reservation. The lack of consideration for their customers' time and plans was truly unacceptable. The way they handled the situation left a sour taste in my mouth, and I will not be returning to dine there in the future. Furthermore, they charge $500 upfront for a reservation. They also advertise that reservations NON REFUNDABLE. So what’s the process for the restaurant for canceling…. Thief’sResponse to owners response1. Never made it inside or near the restaurant. Received the call 5 min before arrival.2. Never received refund3. Now I’m actually wanting to really try the food now because of the way you responded. Let’s see if the food is as confident as your response to customers… response was giving chills

Having grown up near NYC, lived in Chicago, and my partner, in LA, we have always been surrounded by restaurants offering excellent fine dining cuisine and service. When we moved to Dallas, we were wondering if there would be anything of similar caliber. There is no Michelin guide in Texas, but we do have some James Beard finalists. Unfortunately, we felt Carte Blanche was a bit over priced for what they offered. Everything seemed kind of average, which is why I’m rating with 3 stars. We obviously are unaware of the market price, cost of materials, etc that goes into providing this service and experience, but having had a better experience at a Michelin 1 star restaurant in NYC at a much lower cost, it’s hard to give this a higher rating. That being said, it was a unique experience and the service was fine. The croissant was SO buttery and delicious! Everyone was also very friendly and helpful! We had a good time overall.

?✨ Last night we had a culinary enchantment at Carte Blanche to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and 5th anniversary of our first time meeting! ?? We embarked on a gastronomic journey with a sumptuous 6-course tasting menu expertly paired with 5 exquisite wines. From the tangy burst of the Fermented Gazpacho Soup to the delicate flavors of Firefly Squid Escabeche, each dish was a masterpiece in itself. The indulgence continued with the velvety Foie Gras Mousse, followed by the succulent Wood Fired Halibut crowned with Krystal Caviar. The richness of Dry Aged Venison tantalized our taste buds along with the mind blowing fire roasted boar’s belly, before we surrendered to the delightful Texas Style Funnel Cake, adorned with black currant jam, mandarin sorbet, and pecan sabayon. ??✨ Cheers to an unforgettable evening of culinary bliss and to many more birthdays filled with delectable delights! ?? #CarteBlancheExperience #BirthdayCelebration #GourmetDelights

One of the finest restaurants in the Dallas metroplex. Absolutely first rate service with amazing wines and food. Should not be missed. In Los Angeles this would cost you twice as much, so take advantage of the opportunity to eat here.

My wife and I went at 5:00 pm on Friday when they opened for dinner. The ambiance was calm and relaxing, with a rustic but stylish & neat interior design. We were promptly greeted at the door and shown to our seat. Our server Diana was very attentive and welcoming, coming to the table just the right amount. We started our meals with a couple aperitifs, then ended up experiencing one of the best meals we've had in Dallas. Every dish we chose was elegantly designed, cooked, and plated to the highest level. We especially enjoyed the embered kohlrabi, ricotta agnolotti, and complimentary blue corn cornbread with herbed butter that was provided alongside our entrees. We highly recommend this venue to considering, and will choose this restaurant above the many other Michelin-worthy restaurants we've been to in the city and ended up paying way more for less tasty foods.
Vegetarian options: Fair amount of vegetarian options, definitely enough to get your fill.
Parking: Few parking spots on the road in front, but large parking lot behind the restaurant. Good availability if you go early.

Guys, the atmosphere and service are IMMACULATE. We went to Carte Blanche to celebrate my friend’s birthday and the staff was so friendly and attentive from the second we stepped in to the last second before we left. We went with the 6-course tasting menu. This is a MUST TRY experience. When it comes to food, our favorite was Wood Fired Halibut. Everything else was quite experimental for our taste with a fine mix of sweet and sour. The presentation was out of this world. But overall we were very pleased with this cute place and service.

Great experience! I loved the food, service, and ambiance. Within all the delicious food, there was the best foie gras, croissant, cornbread, gazpacho soup, and marshmallow I've ever had.

Splendor and flavor lives here! There aren't many places that give me a sense of Awe - Carte Blanche is one of those! The moment I walked through the door, my jaw dropped. I had heard from my fiancé about Carte Blanche and the pastries they offer. She's shared some to-go with me in the past, but seeing them for the first time was an experience in its own! My fiancé and I took a friend for my time and I was deeply amazed to the variety of pastries and how delicious they looked. The restaurant also makes for great pictures. They taste even better than they look! I had the French Toast Brioche (No, I didn't just make that up) and a cheesey-ham goodness (Yes, I made that one up but that what it tasted like ?)!! Wish I could've eaten more but 2 were just perfect! Everyone in Dallas needs to try them - makes me want to come back and try the restaurant!Carte Blanche is a great way to start your Saturday/Sunday morning! It is very much worth it! My fiancé and friend also had some thoughts that I would love to share:Fiancé:"Carte Blanche -Carte Blanche is the best hidden gem in lower Greenville! Every Saturday and Sunday morning they have wide variety of fresh French pastries ready to serve! There are a few kinds of brioche pastries, croissants, pinwheels, and muffins! Some of these are seasonal so it’s fun to try new things every season. Some of my favorites have been the guava brioche, the pistachio brioche, and the tomatillo pinwheel! Both classic and unique pastries are all in one place. I would try all of it if I could though! This is definitely a great place to start your day in Dallas on a weekend outing!"Friend:I love carte blanche. I don’t remember the names though. All pastries are amazing. The flavour, the quantity! I literally have no words!

Sophisticated, beautifully curated dinner. Service is professional, and extremely customer oriented. You will feel like the staff truly cares about your experience. The food is worthy of a Michelin star- inventive and elegantly presented. Carte Blanche is an experience to be savored.

We have been wanting to try this Dallas take on a tasting menu based concept for a while now, so we were excited we were able to experience the Valentines day pre fixe dinner with wine pairing. Overall the food was generally enjoyable but we have questions about the restaurant's approach to fine dining. For a restaurant that very much desires to project a lofty opinion of itself, it fell short in a number of small but noticeable ways. Our tasting journey started with a sunchoke fritter with a truffle sauce. As an amuse bouche this was a nice beginning, and the aroma of the truffle was heavily prominent (did they use truffle oil?). It was paired with a French sparkling rosé that went well and was very tasty. However, when asked about the wine specifically our server could only tell us it had strawberry notes. She even had to look at the bottle to tell us where it was from. From there we were served a crudo of sea bream. My dining companions liked this course, but I thought it was the most generic of the entire meal. It was dotted with pickled daikon which was the only flavor I got. The fish was a non-entity. This was followed by what all of us agreed was the most inventive and well executed course of the meal, a foie gras mousse with a gingersnap tuille, pepper jam and a cultured butter croissant. Very tasty. We were told the chef/owner’s wife is a pastry chef herself and it clearly shows. The mousse was rich but light and spreading it on the flaky, buttery croissant was a treat. The pairing with Hungarian Tokaji was unexpected and clever. Next up we had a seared halibut with lemon beurre blanc and charred kale. I personally liked this course well enough, but my dining companions thought it was very under seasoned. The main course consisted of grille venison loin with a mole and preparations of squash. On the side came wild boar burnt ends over a small charcoal burner. The restaurant bills itself as specializing in game and this was definitely one of the stronger dishes. The venison was beautifully cooked, and the wild boar had an almost pastrami like taste and texture. Both were stand outs of the meal. While the mole complimented the boar very well, it really overpowered the venison. I found it to be best with only the faintest dab of the sauce. One curious problem that came up was the undercooked squash one of our tablemates received. It was so underdone he could not penetrate it with a fork. When alerted, our waiter replaced the squash, but this portion was again inedible. The venison mole dish was paired with a very nice Rioja, possibly my favorite pairing of the evening. Finally, dessert was a play on funnel cake with berry compote and ice cream. This was an interesting idea and I think we all enjoyed it.Service was efficient but clumsy. Our server, while very friendly, was not clear on many of the details of the food or wine and when asked specific questions often resorted to saying how much she enjoyed the dish in question. When the table was being prepped for the next service flatware was placed off to the side of the diner rather than in front of them. Glasses were not cleared between courses leading to a collection of them gathering at the end of the table. When entering the restaurant there is no proper waiting area so patrons must stand awkwardly near the door dodging passing servers until their table is ready. One couple we observed from our table stood for nearly twenty minutes before being led to their table because the previous diners overran their allotted time.
