In the Joule Hotel

Mood lighting, modern decor, and ample seating. Can accommodate large groups.

The food was good. Portions were normal human sized.

The bathrooms were nice and clean. Staff was pleasant.

Great for date night, friends night out, after work, solo dinning.

Centrally located to popular downtown Dallas spots. Before or aftee wating, walk through the beautiful Joule hotel.

The food was great. I had the ribeye, and it was better than has been served to me the last several tims I was at Capital Grille.
My only complaint, and the only reason I did not give 5 stars was the limited selection.
First, the menu had a limited selection. Aside from the 5-6 types of steak, they had only a little over a half-dozen entrees, including a salad and a burger.
This would not normally be a problem, only do a few things, but do them well. However, they were out of half of those entrees and one of the only 4 available sides. However, the chef did create an alternative side vegetable dish by request that was excelent.

Tucked under the cool, shadowy corridors of The Joule, CBD Provisions doesn’t scream for attention. It doesn’t need to. It just is. A steakhouse? A brunch spot? A downtown watering hole? Who cares. What it is, is good. The kind of place that doesn’t try to impress you because it knows it already has.

And then there is Sal.

Sal isn’t just a bartender. He’s the kind of man who remembers your drink, your dog’s name, and the fact that you had a bad Tuesday two weeks ago. He’s got that rare quality that most hospitality folks fake and few genuinely possess: empathy. He’s top 10, maybe even top 5, in a lifetime of bars from Bangkok to Brooklyn. The kind of guy who makes you feel better before the first sip.

The food? Designed by someone who cares. Smash burgers with just the right amount of filth and crunch. Tuna nachos that are confident enough to be loud without being obnoxious. Deviled eggs that belong in some Southern grandma’s heirloom cookbook. Omelettes that make morning meetings tolerable. Chicken clubs that don’t play around. Nothing phoned in. Nothing lazy.

And then there is the 4 to 6 PM daily happy hour. A window of salvation in the middle of a city where happy hour usually means watered down well drinks and stale fries. Here, it means quality, consistency, and maybe a few life lessons from Sal, if you are lucky.

In a downtown full of culinary tourists and pretenders, CBD Provisions is the real deal. A love letter to those who still give a damn.

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at the restaurant inside The Joule, CBD Provisions. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was upscale yet inviting—perfect for a memorable night out.

Our server, Ben, was exceptional! His energy, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm elevated our evening. He offered thoughtful recommendations and made sure every course was perfectly timed and beautifully presented.

The highlight of our meal was the rack of lamb—perfectly cooked, tender, and richly flavorful, topped with vibrant herbs that brought everything together. Every bite was a delight.

Ask for Ben—he’ll take great care of you!

I ordered their cheese burger which is the worst tasting burger ever.

CBD is special, especially if you order the Berkshire pig head. Brined for 5 days, steamed and roasted, and served with all the accompaniments for the most memorable taco dinner you'll ever have. Besides that, the cocktails are fantastic, service top notch, and all the food is divine.

We've been about 5 times, had the pig's head thrice, and a number of other dishes that keep us coming back for more. Tonight, we had the cauliflower and beef tallow fries as sides, and the Texas sheet cake and strawberry shortcake as part of a birthday dinner. Not a single shortcoming could be shared. Our 6 and 8 year old boys had a blast, just as our parents have before. You can't help but enjoy yourself.

It's a beautiful restaurant, in an equally beautiful hotel, run by great people. Our server Ben was helpful, friendly, and attentive, as was the busser. And the chef came out to talk about our food, too.

Highly recommend. We will be back again, and we can't wait until.

Great dining experience today. Our server was great! Friendly, attentive and knowledgable. We had pimento cheese toast and chips & guac to start. Then we enjoyed the burgers with tallow fries. Everything was delicious, hot and appealing to the eye! We really enjoyed our lunch.

Would recommend. Quinoa Bowl was actually AMAZING!!

Walked passed it accidentally—keep an AUS out for a metal placard on the wall with the name.

Came on a Sunday so I had the brunch menu. Was torn between the quinoa bowl for a healthier option or the migas. Quinoa bows are often disappointing but I wanted to opt for the healthier meal.

The quinoa bowl is honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked quinoa, lots of flavor. Citrus slaw, toasted pumpkin seeds, and creamy goat cheese. Each little item spread out through the bowl so you get to taste those different flavors with different bites. I opted to get avocado with mine and it came out with flaky salt and a drizzle of olive oil. SO GOOD!
