Music was way too loud. Menu needs more food choices. Chef ran out of NY steak. Not much left to choose. Service was top notch.

We enjoyed everything we ordered - the crudo, mixed salad, tomela, fish tacos, and bone marrow tacos (what they're known for). Wonderful service too. Highly recommend!

You know that quote "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel"? Well, we walked away from our dining experience at Comedor with a feeling we'll never forget. I brought my best friend here for his birthday and they greeted us with celebration mezcal shots and the whole team had signed a card for him with happy birthday wishes. Every single time a new waiter came by our table, they wished him a happy birthday. It truly is these small acts of kindness that go a long way and stick with you long after the meal is over – and that thoughtfulness and care extends to their service and menu items as well. Absolutely loved the Repo Ginger cocktail and the Papas Fritas are not to be missed!

I rolled into Comedor late on a Saturday, hoping for date-night vibes, and instead got plopped onto the community tables parked in front of the bar—basically the culinary equivalent of homeroom. Look, I'm all for “breaking bread” with humanity, but I'd prefer not to elbow-bump Chad's mezcal while whisper-yelling sweet nothings to my own dinner companion. Communal seating: great in kindergarten, weird when I'm dropping triple digits on tacos. Now, onto the good stuff—because the kitchen? Chef's-kiss city. From the Frío squad, the Suncheese Tostada, Salsa Macha, Charred Cauliflower, and Shishito Salpicón landed almost as fast as my annoyance with the seating arrangement. Every bite popped like a mariachi trumpeter after an espresso shot. Highly recommend. Then came the headline act: Bone Marrow Tacos with quelites, smoked butter, and pecan gremolata. These tortillas were so perfect I considered writing them a love letter. If you don't order this dish, I can't help you—you've made bad life choices. We skipped the De la Casa stuff (future me will report back), but the Papas Fritas Potosinas from Del Huerto were golden, crispy, and came with an onion aioli that made me want to dunk everything in sight—including, possibly, Chad. Service? Ehhh. Our food sprinted out before the drinks even started stretching—strange, considering the place wasn't exactly bursting at the seams. Not a deal-breaker, but the bar team definitely needs to sync their watches with the kitchen. Final verdict: Comedor nails the “modern Mexican” groove—think edgy, flavor-packed riffs rather than abuela's greatest hits. It's not gunning for Rick Bayless' Topolobampo throne (different league, different ballpark), but for Austin it's a rock-solid pick—especially if you can score an actual table and not the cafeteria benches up front. Go for the Bone Marrow tacos, stay for the fries, and maybe practice your best “Sorry, I'm taken” smile for your new tablemates.

Service was wildly slow last night compared to times in the past. My strip steak showed up so late everyone had already completed their entree dishes. No apologies really offered. Just a late and rather cold steak (they clearly forgot it). Places is starting to go down sadly.

Food and service as usual amazing! Although we found out during our visit that Seth is no longer a bartender at Comedor. He is one of the big reasons why we come here! We will miss Seth and his amazing service with a smile. Don't get me wrong the staff is amazing at Comedor but Seth is one of our faves. Wishing you best of luck Seth wherever you are my friend.

An absolutely amazing dining experience in the heart of downtown Dallas! From the moment you are greeted on the ground floor with a glass of sparkling wine, to the ride up to the 49th floor where you are greeted again, and shown your table. Most with amazing views from the 49th floor, depending on the season, it is best to get reservations about an hour before sunset so that you can experience the view from daytime to evening to full night when you are ending your dinner! Also the bathroom is amazing with floor to celling windows when you enter. There is an after dinner club through side door that allows you to linger with drinks for views from the 50th floor in a more intimate setting. The food is superb (in-line with any 5-star restaurant) and the wine list is literally a book, having lived in the CA Bay Area, their wine list competes with some of the best restaurants in SF and Napa!

It was a perfect evening! We had such a great view and our servers went above and beyond to make it so fun and enjoyable and relaxing! Great wine selections, and the food was amazing. Also loved how we were all served at the same time and their timing of appetizers, drinks and dinner was perfect. If ever back in that area, we will definitely be dining there again! Thank you to the Chef and servers! We are still talking about our evening.

I absolutely love Monarch but was disappointed with the menu changes last night. The new “Rosette” style lasagna was not good and the rigatoni was too spicy. These are staple dishes that I've enjoyed in the past and I hope Monarch will consider changing back to the original ingredients/presentation. I was thoroughly disappointed, especially after bringing my friends from out of town who were excited to dine at Monarch their first time. They left most of their food on the plate.

Monarch is definitely an experience! We love Italian food and came to celebrate a birthday. Bam was our server, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave some great recommendations. Bam presented a Birthday menu that was a great surprise. The food was absolutely amazing we had the crudo, which was delicious but it is definitely a smaller portion. We also shared some pasta and had the Branzino and Halibut with asparagus. The halibut was very flavorful with a delicious sauce, and the Branzino was equally delicious. Here are the two reasons I rated good and not Excellent. When I am coming to a restaurant with the magnatude and reputation of Monarch I expect flawless service. After our appetizers were cleared we were waiting for a vault tour that we were told would be before dinner. Our entrees did arrive before we were taken on the tour (which isn't that big of a deal), but we sat for 4-5 minutes with hot food and no silverware to eat it with. I tried to get the attention of a few of the staff but was unable too. It is my expectation that when I spend 300 for a night out that it should go flawlessly and unfortunately it didn't.

Super awesome experience, which I live for! So happy they were inviting for our first time. Food was so delicious and well presented. Worthy!! The view was spectacular! Service was professional and knowledgeable! I can't wait to go back!!!!!

We enjoyed our first visit to Monarch immensely. The food was delicious. My husband's steak had such a great flavor and was cooked well. I had the short rib pasta and it was rich with flavor. The service was excellent and loved the views. We will be back.

Be careful where you get seated. The Maitre d's don't pay any attention and will just sit you anywhere. We had a two top in a corner abutting a wall. Not the way you want to spend an evening.

Great Restaurant if you are looking for somewhere with the Dallas city view recommend going right before the sun sets to see the sunset and also get to see the night view at night time. Food is amazing and have a wonderful wine list.
