Finding an airport restaurant that you look forward to dining in is a treasure and a pleasure. Dallas Love Field Cool River Cafe, is one of these places. I have eaten there several times in the last 4 years. The staff is always friendly, gracious and professional. On one visit, I left my credit card after dining. I walked away to do some wandering during my layover; on my walking back by, still unaware of my forgotten credit card, my waitress saw me go by and she returned my credit card, which I gladly rewarded her with a $20 tip on top of the $10 tip I provided with the meal.

The service is fast, the food is exceptional and the portions are generous. The atlantic salmon, broccoli and finger potatoes were outstanding.

I ordered the Chipotle burger with extra pickles and onions and sweet potatoes on the side. They charged me for the extra onions even though I didn't receive the extra pickles. They tried to make up for this by giving me a pack of lays chips instead of giving me a refund. The bun tasted like cardboard, the burger lacked seasoning, and the potato fries were cold and limp. I will make sure to avoid this restaurant on future trips through Dallas.

Eggs and bacon tasted like it was cooked the night before and heated up under heat lamps that morning. Don’t recommend.

Must say that this place looks nice but the food was a huge disappointment. We sat right by the window on the tarmac so that was good but we looked at the menu and the prices were pretty high. Of course we are in the airport so I guess that's to be expected. My Wife ordered the chicken sandwich on foccaccia, $22, and for her side selected the sauteed mushrooms. The chicken was grilled to within an inch of it's poor life. No real sauce or spread on it and the focaccia looked like it had been out for a couple of days. My wife is not picky and even she was really unhappy with the flavor. The side of mushrooms was about as unappealing to look at as any mushroom I've ever seen. They were like whole button your mushrooms but they were totally black. They certainly made them look like fungus. Again, no flavor or seasoning to speak of. She even tried a second one and nearly spit it out. I wouldn't even try one just on appearance alone.
I ordered the Bacon Gouda burger, $23, and fries for my side. The burger came on Texas Toast and I'm looking for a little more than thick white bread on my $23 burger so I asked them for a hamburger bun instead. Again, about as disappointing a burger as I've ever eaten. The beef was flavorless and unseasoned. It was a little more rare that medium rare as well which I think is a risk no restaurant should be taking with ground meat. The smoked Gouda was looking like it came out of a supermarket store brand package and wasn't even slightly melted, still basically solid like it just came from the fridge. The bacon was about the only redeeming thing about it and it was just plain old bacon. The bun was not close to being fresh either. Lack of any kind of sauce or spread to camouflage the poor quality of the burger. Sad because I could have walked 50 feet across the terminal and gotten a Whataburger for a third of the price. And I'm not even a fan of Whataburger. So in closing, don't be tempted by the slick appearance of the restaurant. There are a number of other restaurants in close proximity that would serve you a better meal at a fraction of the cost. If you are management reading this, you need to provide something appealing to eat if you're going to charge premium prices. Blech!

Oh, the fries were acceptable.

After seeing these reviews...totally checks out. Should've looked at them before we went. Server was fine/standard. Still tipped him 20%. Management (Harper) is awful, unprofessional, combative, and clearly in the wrong position and industry. Food is terrible, cold, and overpriced. Steer clear of this place.

We're visiting and are first time patrons. We received our order swiftly which leads me to believe that the meal was pre-made because our eggs were overcooked/ cold, bacon was cold, toast was cold/burnt . My coffee was the HOTTEST item. So disappointed especially for the amount that we paid! Our waitress was not friendly.

Staff up front was rude, food was good but overpriced, and the QR code to order food was faulty and it took over 30 minutes for a Cesar salad with cold chicken! Would not come back, get fast food instead it would be much easier.

With a solid hour to kill before my flight, I decided to let my taste buds take me on a little adventure. I summoned Paul, my charming waiter, who assured me he could whip up my meal in less time than it takes to finish a TikTok video—30 minutes or less!

I ordered an old fashioned, because nothing says ā€œI’ve got time to killā€ quite like a whiskey cocktail. And for my culinary masterpiece, I went with a Chicken Caesar salad. Ah yes, the classic ensemble of lettuce, croutons, cheese, and grilled chicken—because who doesn’t enjoy playing hide-and-seek with their food?

The drink? A delightful elixir that definitely knew how to please. The bill, charmingly totaling $63 (tip included, of course, because I’m not a monster), left me wondering if my salad was secretly dipped in liquid gold. But hey, at least I wasn’t boarding the plane hungry! Bon voyage!
