Not a place you can actually go to have a dog… was looking for a good dog for lunch and was near downtown so I hit up google and this place came up in my search. So I decided to drive over only to find that this was only a parking spot for the truck. I called the number that’s listed on the truck only for some guy to answer and tell me that they’re an events only truck. Whoever runs this place needs to update their google listing because none of that information is on their google search profile. It shows them to be open until 5pm for business.

False advertising as this is not a real place to stop by and get food. Only for catering events. What makes it worse is that none of their social media specify that nor does anyone pick up the phone when you call. Always listed as “Open” but everytime I drive to the listed business location the truck is either gone or shut down.

WE LOVE COWTOWN! As an event coordinator, I have the hardest time finding vendors with great customer service and even better food! I booked them the day of the event and they were so quick, responsive, and accommodating. Our residents absolutely loved the food!

I was in Dallas from out-of-town (Austin) this past weekend, and while we no longer live in North Texas we still own property up there - means we still follow Metroplex media, and I don't recall if it was D Magazine or the Dallas Observer that had previously mentioned Cowtown Dogs but I had them on my radar screen to give a try.

Despite being outside their normal operating hours, the folks there at Cowtown Dogs went sooo far above & beyond what anyone could reasonably expect to accommodate my schedule that it blew me away... and the food was stellar too!

The Original Texas Style Hot Dog is a rock-solid item upon which to anchor your menu - Sloppy Eddie chili that tops it would be great served over almost anything, whether Fritos, saltines, baked potato, hamburger, or old leather tennis shoe, and the marinated grilled jalapenos are a subtle touch that really takes the dog to the next level - but it's the Stockyard Hot Link that's the star of the show.

The Hot Link really threads the needle between flavor and just the right touch of heat, and the contrast between the snap of the casing and the squishy brioche bun it's served on is spot-on. Eat this!

The Cowtown Dogs team are clearly good people, making every effort to create a name for themselves (it's deserved!), and the food they're putting out of their kitchen might finally make Dallas qualify as a true Hotdog Town. I'm a convert. You should be too.

Be aware if they are at events, their prices will be double. I waited in line quite a while this weekend and got to the front to find out they charge $9.50 at events per dog which is double the normal price. Don’t waste your time in line unless you truly have to or are prepared to pay gourmet prices for par-level hot dogs.
