I have had dinner at the terrace several times prior to going to a Broadway show. It seems like the last two to three times that we've had dinner there, the quality of the food has decreased. The menu options are not great either. I will give it another chance but if it continues to decline I will have to go somewhere else for my pre-broadway dinner.

The hostesses were great and were able to accommodate me by adding 2 more to my table. Piano music is a cherry on top to dining at this beautiful restaurant. It is very beautiful and elegant. There is so much variety of food to choose from. I actually loved the many stations of food selections. Their salad station is fresh, i repeated the soup kind, i had second on their dessert one, and entrees were pretty tasty to be honest. Sadly, i rendered a 4 because once brenda came by, that was it. I expected better service. I only had water. I was never asked nor ever told i could get any tea or coke or wine. My water cup was empty and so my rating is 4 for the poor service received. However please allow me to say, that i did love my experience and truly enjoyed the food, the music and absolutely fell in love with the piano music. Its a good price value!

The service was great, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The place was clean and well-maintained. There is a good variety of food, so even picky eaters can find something to enjoy. The salads and desserts were excellent. The entrees were decent but not outstanding; still, most people should find a satisfying meal. Expect to spend about $35 per person, plus tip.

Dining at the Crystal Terrace before a show at Fair Park is truly a wonderful experience and part of what makes a night at the theater feel extra special. The buffet offers an impressive variety of dishes, and what really sets it apart is how the menu changes to reflect the theme or culture of the play that’s currently showing. It’s such a thoughtful and creative touch that adds depth to the overall experience.
The food is fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. There’s something for everyone—salads, entrées, carving stations, desserts—and it’s clear they take pride in both the quality and variety. Whether you're in the mood for something classic or a little more adventurous, you'll find it here.
Service is top-notch. The staff is warm, attentive, and efficient, making sure everything flows smoothly so you can relax and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed before the show. It's quick and convenient without sacrificing hospitality.
The space itself is elegant and inviting, with lovely views and a calm atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the buzz of the performance energy just steps away. It’s a beautiful place to start your evening.
Reservations are required, and I highly recommend making them in advance—especially on busy show nights. Crystal Terrace is not just a meal; it’s a perfect complement to your night at the theater. A seamless blend of dining and entertainment, and a must-do if you're planning to attend a show at Fair Park.

My daughter & I have been several times. Each time the food is superb, waiters efficient yet not 'hovering', the pianist is awesome-- the whole ambiance is amazing. (Great wine selection too). Plus you walk up the walkway- and voila- you are at the theatre!! Elegantly done-- it is SO worth it!!

The service was great. We were seating quickly and waited on often. The atmosphere was great with lovely music and ambience, and people before the show.
The food was pretty ok. The proteins section was the star of course. The salad bar was just ok, with most of the items there being fairly bland. The dessert bar was good but again pre-prepared as it is a buffet. I will say it was not horrible food, but I probably wouldn’t do it again for the price point.

My most recent visit to the Crystal Terrace was not as enjoyable as my previous experiences. Per their website, it states that reservations are recommended. When I arrived at 11:45am which was 15 minutes after opening I was seated next to the piano player at a bar height table. I was most concerned because my mother is unable to sit in a high seat. The hostess went to speak to another hostess who said we did not have a reservation and there were no seats. They could sit us at the low end of the bar and bring over some chairs. This was very unpleasant for me, but I kept my mouth shut so my mother would have a good time. I did not enjoy the entrees. I ate the cod, vegetable medley, and potatoes. The potatoes are never cooked long enough, and are kind of hard. This is my third time visiting and having the potatoes. They are not roasted long enough, and are too salty for me. The atmosphere was too loud for me as it was disorienting to sit at the end of the bar where the staff bring in patrons, count cash, pick up drinks from the bartender, etc. This might not be the best option for a pre-show meal in the future considering I spent almost $500 for two to attend the show and the buffet. I would recommend they update their website to reservations are required if they are not going to sit patrons in available seats.
