Hello everyone, i liked the idea of taking the lift down from the street, the steakhouse is very elegant, i had a bar seating and enjoyed their juicy pink centered burger, i wish it were bigger, the fries were very tiny and generous , i was served by the bartender who was very friendly and polite.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Dakota’s this evening, and we see why they have been around 40 years! We will be back! The service, atmosphere, and best of all the food was excellent! Shout out to our server Damien and bartender Kayla; they both provided phenomenal service and just seem like good folks all around!

I worked as a waiter at Dakota's when it opened in the 80s (it was a gold mine). I worked with Jimmy Severson (Sevy's restaurant today).
The atmosphere and beauty of the restaurant is what has always made Dakota's so special....from going DOWN the elevator to the restaurant below ground, to the beautiful restaurant, to the greatness of the waterfall outside.
Dakota's has made a statement by still being in business for over 40 years. The food was great and we sat out on the patio by the waterfall which is great ambiance!

We wanted to try a new spot in Dallas and stumbled across Dakota’s. Ronney took care of us and couldn’t have done a better job! He took us through the entire menu and made fantastic recommendations, my favorite being topping the tomahawk with the black truffle compound butter. The food was breath taking and cocktails were delicious!

Honestly, it was vastly disappointing. For the price, the steaks were barely/marginally, better than what you would get at Saltgrass. If a porterhouse at Saltgrass is an 8/10, Dakota's was an 8.2/10.
I'm glad I went for the experience, but definetly not worth a return.

Dakota's Steakhouse is truly the gold standard in Dallas. Every time I walk in, the experience is flawless thanks to an unbelievable team. Drake, the manager, is so welcoming and one of the most genuine people you'll ever meet. He always goes above and beyond, he takes care of me and my friends every single visit, and his hospitality is unmatched. Kayla makes the best espresso martinis, hands down. She's warm, talented, so sweet, and remembers exactly how I like everything. She's my favorite!! And Judge, he is the most attentive, kind, and thoughtful server. He pays attention to every detail and treats every table like a VIP. They consistently set the bar high, it's why Dakota's is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is perfect, and the service is always next-level. If you're looking for a place where you'll be taken care of from the moment you arrive, this is it!

OK, I dinged the service due to the ending of our meal. If I'm paying $100+/person, I should be able to finish a conversation! Overall the service provided during the meal was excellent, top notch. But don't linger too long after your meal is done. They need to turn those tables. So, what happened? We finished our meal and our friends that introduced us to this restaurant, and we were in town for the game BTW. So, we were catching up. As one of the staff was coming to pour another top off of water, the old guy pushed her away as to say, don't give them anymore water and give them a reason to stick around. OK, I get it, but damn, it was so obvious. Well, at least the food was good. I would not go back again, but it was a good experience overall.

Looked at Reddit for recs on Thanksgiving day restaurants. Dakota was mentioned several times so we decided to try it. Sat in room closest to waterfall so was quieter than main room which was excellent for us. Nico was our server but it was an amazing team of people that served and cleared our table.
