I really like the ambience and decor of the restaurant. I can tell they make the effort to make a good experience, the price of what I ordered was reasonable and I like the decor. Everything was going great until I tried the food, the food lacked flavor, I also tried what other people in my table ordered and they had the same experience. It is quite unfortunate because, I feel that they did everything great but the food wasn't good.

Food is great but the patio entertainment was the worst I have ever experienced. Someone must have been deaf to hire this guy on March 7. Cringeworthy. Slit my wrist bad!

I have been there several times and the service was good, until now with Alicia as manager, the service has been the worst, always with a bad face and in a bad mood, the rest was perfect, the food and the other manager Carolina, I hope they take action like with the other drunk manager

Arrived at 5 before the 6:00 dinner rush. The Queso Flameado with chorizo was not creamy and stringy just one clump of warm cheese with not much flavor at all! Although it was melted, maybe it was the brand of cheese that made it less desirable, accompanied by 3 tortillas (clearly not enough) for the amount of queso, the salsa that accompanied the chips tasted like tomato sauce lacking flavor and not even a hint of heat. The enchilada nortneas same thing with the cheddar cheese melted yet not creamy and clumped together inside the rolled tortilla and didn’t even ooze when cut and the sauce was literally chilli concarne with beans almost like from a can which came w/a couple of tablespoons of red unflavored rice and refried beans with no flavor whatsoever! I have no problem with children but outside on the patio area there were several children running up and down and all over the stage area which could become a safety issue and should not be allowed while also disrupting other customers trying to enjoy a nice evening on the patio. Service was slow and waiter was nice but not very attentive. Once we got served our first drink and meal then he was gone! We’ll give it another shot but my guess is the experience will still be the same.

The establishment was characterized by excessive noise and subpar service. The server’s inattention was evident as he spent over 15 minutes refilling dishes instead of taking our food order. The only redeeming feature was the original Doce mesa location, as this establishment fell short of expectations. Mico would likely be deeply disappointed by this establishment.

DO NOT COME HERE! This place was extremely unprofessional. We had a reservation for 6:45 and when we arrived they had no table for us and it took them 2 hours and two table changes before they finally got tables enough for 8 people. The two hostesses had no clue what they were doing. They even suggested us sitting outside (it's 40 degrees outside). The manager was no where to be seen other than glares and what seems to be a horrible attitude. She might care or could not idk she never even came to check on our party that was clearly frustrated their reservation wasn't honored. The hostesses told me she was pregnant so that I shouldn't go up to her and complain so there was that. I guess if you are pregnant you can just be bad at your job. They did nothing at all to help us have a good time at their restaurant. The food is mid too. Way better food elsewhere, don't recommend at all. If u have money spent it on some real Mexican food not at Doce Mesas.

This is a beautiful place, plenty of light, & we could hear each other talk! The food was decent, but their portions were on the small side. Why are the salsa bowls so tiny?

Super weird experience. Instead of asking us to wait for a table, they pulled a plastic table and plastic chairs into the middle of the dining room by the bar and threw a tablecloth over it.

Our server, Rafael, was possibly a host? Very odd behavior, extremely disengaged, seemed off balance. I don't want to speculate as to why, but it was strange to say the least. Everything took a while, food wasn't bad. But overall weirdest restaurant experience I've had, won't be back.

My family and I had to leave before dining as our server - we had a host help our table and server? His name is Rafael.
He made us extremely uncomfortable as his behavior was erratic. He was eating limes behind the bar and we decided to leave before our drinks even made it to the table. He ended up comping our drinks and telling us to come back and see him for lunch. Rafael was completely out of it and had to be highly intoxicated. I’m not sure how his co workers did not report this but I will not be back to this location.

Horrible customer service, guy at bar rude. Came here to try it out but people are stuck up here and they don't play any Spanish music it's more focused everyone else except mexican people.

The place is rather small, and the food is alright. They have some stronger dishes but it’s definitely not your typical Mexican spot. The nachos are pre assembled per chip not your typical bunch and the enchiladas are alright. They have some items for dinner that run out so I never get to try them haha. Drinks are pretty strong and the dessert is good.

I recently took my wife out for her birthday with a party of 12, and the experience was disappointing. At the end of the meal, they brought us one bill, which I asked to be split among the parties. (We called before to make sure this was possible) We weren’t informed beforehand that they only do single bills again. Most restaurants handle this better. There was a 20% gratuity included, which was understandable. However, when the checks were split, the server insisted no tip was added and made sure to announce this loudly to the group, hinting to add a tip. I could clearly see the gratuity on the bill, circled it, signed my receipt, and then left.

As we were leaving, the server came outside to request a tip again, despite me explaining that the gratuity was included. I’ve never experienced such unprofessional behavior, especially on a special occasion. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this experience was particularly upsetting.

Pleasant experience on the first visit to the restaurant. The food was very good, the spices were rich and the portion of the desserts was very large.
They also had an option for our 4 year old daughter.

Kid-friendliness: Menu with smaller portions for children.
