Awesome food and great service. Very kid friendly. Kids menu shows breakfast is only served until 4 but our server confirmed that the full kids menu can be ordered anytime. The Blue Plate is fantastic

Just have to say I love bringing my family to this location for breakfast on the weekends! We always request Ruben for our server due to his great service and interaction with my kids! I fully recommend coming here for breakfast and if you get lucky and Ruben is working try to get him as your server and you will see the attention to detail on making you visit A++

I ordered the huevos rancheros and a single pancake on the side. The eggs and the green sauce, tortillas, and fixings on the side were good, but both the black beans and rice were both flavorless.
The popovers look great, and have a flaky, crusty outside with a soft, airy inside. Sadly they too, are almost flavorless. They taste like the basis for a variety of different flavored popovers. I think they're really missing out on this item's potential. How about a cinnamon/sugar one? Maybe a spicy one with some paprika and jalapeno? Bacon and cheddar?
Overall the menu seems dated and very basic. And that's saying something because I'm pretty basic when it comes to breakfast. I usually look for an egg/meat plate with a pancake or two; not to be found here. If memory serves the menu featured four semi-traditional breakfast plates, then four or five of the fashionable benedicts (pass), then a couple more with biscuits and such I think? The pancake itself has some kind of cheese in it, but it wasn't that great. I've made better Bisquick pancakes on Christmas morning.
The location is great, parking is good if a little cramped, but so is everything else in the area. Atmosphere is good, especially the tables by the window. They remind me of the view in an old Kip's Big Boy or Denny's. There's always young families present and some dogs on the patio to smile at.

I’ve heard of this place through several friends since I moved to Dallas 2 years ago. I finally made my way in on the way to the arboretum. I got chicken and waffles. My waffle batter had some sort of metal staple in it. The waitress was slow to check on us. I asked for my food to be remade. Took a while. I was honestly left unimpressed especially after I heard so much hype about it.

The outdoor patio is overrun with birds. I’m sure there is something they can do about it. The birds literally come and stand on your table or chairs.

My server was pretty fast, but when i asked for napkins instead of given me napkins she touched the one my silverware was wrapped in as if to say there you go and did not feel like getting more.

I eat breakfast at the Dream Cafe almost everyday. The food is great, the service is amazing and the community is strong. The thought of them being kicked out of the Hillside Village is unsettling. This restaurant is our version of CHEERS. Many regulars daily at breakfast, daily regulars in the evening, always welcome, always great! PLEASE support these people as we have for so many years!!!!

My first time here and i was very disappointed food was very mid tasting and took extremely long to get my food out i was ready to leave this place i recommend going to a broken egg cafe this place aint it
