Our first time tonight! We celebrated with family that came into town. LET ME TELL you this authentic amazing steak house Is the real deal! The bacon wrapped filet was the best I have had. Not only this but the appetizer on point. Service was excellent, The story this place tells on the walls is legendary. The desserts were amazing the bread pudding my fav! I’m old Fashion and love some amazing home cooking. I’m So sad it took me this long to enjoy! (No steak sauce needed). To the owner Gene I would love to sit down with you some time and hear your story’s. I love supporting local and learning about our great Country Texas HAHHAHA! Thanks for a fantastic evening you made our night. Much love!

Distinctly average Ordered the ribeye and it was like chewing leather The sides were luke warm and we were warned of most of them by the waiter who told us they were mostly canned. It’s a shame because we were looking forward to steak in Texas. I’m sure the one they’ll serve on our flight home tonight will be better than this was. A must miss, in our view.

My family and I went to Funstons on lover's lane for lunch on Thanksgiving day. It was not a good experience... I was embarrassed that I told my family that Dunstons had great food, great service and value! They wanted to go to other places. We get there and were seated quickly, the waitress was nice and personable but the food was terrible. We ordered the catfish place with 1 small/medium fillet and 2 sides that were cold when it came to the table and just didn't taste good. The squash casserole was awful. I paid $18.00 for a catfish plate that previously offered 2 fillets just this past summer, for one fillet. The menu had changed since this summer and you had the option if you wanted 2 or three fillets with a difference in the price. This menu does not even disclose that you only get on small/medium size piece of fish on the menu. You don't know until the plate is in front of you! Who would reasonably pay @$20.00 for that! I did not recieve the sides that I ordered and when I did they were cold and tasted old. It was 5 of us and the kitchen kept messing up our order. It was an embarrassment because I assured my family that this restaurant was worth the money and effort. I was sooo wrong and hungry when I left. I had 1 piece of fish and a coffee because I couldn't stomach the sides and still paid $21. Oh what you ate nit told until you get the bill is that they automatically charge you gratuity. So not so good service or food. I used to go to Dunstons so much... and now it is dead to me. My Thanksgiving day meal was awful and I was hungry. Just a waste of time and money. Don't go! It is not transparent!

The service was fast (Thanks Steve), meat was very delicious, they cook the meat at wood fire so it has a special taste I can say. Atmosphere is amazing, salad bar is perfect. Don't hesitate to visit this place, amazing reaturant! Definitely recommended!

I used to come here regularly in the past, I went back looking forward to it, but won’t go back. Good was seriously subpar. Steaks are not good, mine was cooked half medium and half well done, sides were flavorless, salad bar was subpar to a supermarket one. Sorry guys, you lost the touch.

I am sitting here!!! ask for a glass of wine 🍷 .. Sofia has been yucking it up with coworkers.. 8 minutes later... she wants my order???... She expressed...wine is coming . 6 minutes later...No wine and an attitude ..???

This has been around for a long time but after our visit I was totally unimpressed. We had a reservation but it was not busy when we arrived. We stood by the entry a full 5 minutes before someone came to seat us. Our server seemed put out by our questions and that we wanted a few minutes to look the menu over. It was our first time there. When he did take our order it arrived in a reasonable time and was as ordered - delivered by another server. He didn't come by again until we had finished our meal. Again, he was rather abrupt so we decided to skip desert. The food was actually pretty good and serving sizes were very adequate. Too bad the service was barely civil.
