Just a tired aging fossil. It needs cleaning and an update. Food is mediocre. The steaks are industrial grade, cfs is not good. Would never go back. You can get a far better meal at Texas Roadhouse.

Such a nice old fashion steakhouse. I believe it's one of the oldest in Dallas. They had a really great salad bar that they are known for. I got the salad bar and the grilled catfish and both were very up to par. Would order/eat them both again. The wait staff were all super nice and the restaurant itself, like I said, very old fashion but really nice. My favorite was the little speakeasy bar in the back called TBD lounge. That was a really cute area to get drinks after dinner (view my photos). Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Food was alright. There were some concerns with an overcooked steak, excess char on a burger, and mix ups of sides for the wrong people. The waiter was kind. The table had comfortable seating for all.The bathrooms seem like an after throught. Insanely narrow, not wheel chair friendly at all.Wheelchair accessibility: The tables and general seating were accessible.The bathroom was very difficult to enter, and turning inside the bathroom was NOT happening. We had to back the chair out and go backwards down the hallway to exit.

I was mostly pleased with my recent dining experience at Dunston's. The service was exemplary, all of the staff are super friendly, and I LOVE the throw-back decor. Other standouts were the mozzarella bites, fresh rolls, the most awesome salad bar, and the affordable drinks made with care.Now for the negatives. As much as it pains me to say it, the steaks at my table of five were just not good. I had the New York Strip (medium rare) and it was full of gristle and fat. It also had zero seasoning, and a curious lack of flavor. My son had the same steak at the same temperature and was just as unsatisfied. I was also disappointed with the baked potato, which was really tiny. Think slightly smaller than a baseball (not a classic steakhouse-sized tater at all). I am not picky and I rarely will send food back, although I contemplated it this time. Dunston's is affordable compared to high-end steakhouses, but one would expect a bit more for a steak that costs $38.Parking: Front and back parking.
My wife and I had such a lovely evening here. Our waitress penny was so nice ,the steak was incredible and the low lit dining was perfect.

Went on a Friday evening for dinner. Tried calling to get a reservation and told not needed. When we arrived, found very busy and sat us in what looked like a make shift aisle where 2 of our party kept getting bumped including by the waiter. Asked for seating in the back and informed that was only for those with reservations ☹️.2 or 3 orders were not made to requested doness. Well done for both, one came back overdone. Very bad experience. May have to reevaluate coming back.Only thing good as always was the salad bar.

First time so didn't know what to expect. Knew it was older, iconic restaurant, but was expecting it to have that “nice” feel. My wife and I dressed nicely and went. It was a little noisy, several kids, and felt very average. Have it a chance and the food made up for it. My filet was tender and excellent! Decided it was on us we didn't research a little better. If you want a place with great tasting food at a good price it's a great place. We will go again, but it won't be for a “nice” date, it will be in jeans and a golf shirt and no ambiance expectations.
