I came here from Houston with friends visiting from NYC and we all really enjoyed ourselves! The biscuits and gravy were delicious as well as the steak and eggs. Bar drinks were also nice. It’s a cute downtown spot without downtown prices! Very affordable. Thanks Ellen’s in Dallas for a great time. Next time I’m up from Houston I’m definitely returning!Kid-friendliness: We came during Sunday brunch which was very family friendly. Saw lots of families just as well as those wanting mimosas and brunch like me and my friends. Pretty cool spot for all ages and demographics for good southern food!

Me and my son ate there and enjoyed both atmosphere and food. My son's pancakes were ok, my scrambled egg with vegetables and fried tortilla was excellent. Coffee was excellent as well.

Title: Disappointing Experience: Tasteless Food, Plastic Chicken, and Cold ServiceReview: I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The food was incredibly tasteless, and the chicken tasted like plastic—definitely not what I expected. Additionally, requesting a simple smile seemed like too much to ask for from the staff.To make matters worse, they served ice-cold milk with my coffee, and when I politely asked for hot milk, I was met with stares as if I had committed a crime. It's disappointing that the reviews don't accurately reflect the reality of this establishment. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a better dining experience.

I would have rated Ellen's a 5 but had a little blip with a rude hostess. The restaurant is cute and has a great vibe. The seating at the bar is open seating. Our server Ashley was awesome, the food was great. The biscuits and gravy and bacon a must have!!!

The atmosphere is very pretty, however the food feels like it's has too complex of flavors that end up making the dishes my party had to be muddy. It felt like the flavors were instruments in a band all playing at a loud volume instead of mixing correctly. The service was ok at first but it took a second to pay and one food runner came off as annoyed when we mentioned a side was missing.
Excellent breakfast and brunch, served by very friendly and accommodating staff, at very reasonable prices. The wait was a little long (busy day), but well worth it!

The food is fantastic, and it's worth waiting for a while.Food is not 5* because of the dark hair on our French fries.The service was next to rude. The administrator asked us to wait despite an empty restaurant at 6:30 a.m.We tried ordering food, but our waiter said, "Drinks only now," and returned 10 minutes later to take the order.He printed the bill when he decided to do so and stayed next to our table waiting for the payment.He probably just had a bad day.
