My husband and I had lunch at Ellenâs and the food was not the same as our previous meals. His meatloaf didnât have any seasoning. And, my burger was good but the mac and cheese wasnât done. The cheese had a gritty taste like powder cheese that wasnât blended well. It was a disappointment.

Let's start with the service, it was great! Here's by the bartender(I think) when we first walked in then seated very quickly. It waitress was very sweet and attentive without crowding us. I ordered a brunch punch, it was decent. Fruity and not to strong, my wife had a belini which she enjoyed. There were some boarded up windows, not sure what happened, but I was not bothered by it.
She ordered a BLT and fries that had avocado and a fried egg on it which she said she liked.
I had a chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. The steak was horrible, it wasn't seasoned and whoever cooked it failed to tenderize it and dredged it horribly, so it was tough, greasy and incapable of keeping the breading on it so the unseasoned steak was just sad. The Mac and cheese sauce had a stage grit to it almost like the rue want cooked down enough( or it was frozen). The mashed potatoes were okay, a few bites you could taste a bit of unwashed potato and they were also not very well seasoned. Over all I like the vibe, but I don't think I would return. Give them a try if you're close by, maybe you'll have a better experience than I did.

Food is great. Service is subâspecifically the hostess. Iâve been coming here with my family (my husband and 1-year old daughter) at least once a month for about a year now. This restaurant appears to cater to families that do not have toddlersâwith little micro aggressions towards my family. This weekend was my last time visiting and we will not be returning. We asked for a booth (booths are easiest to contain my toddler) they said they didnât have any, I pointed out there was an open booth, and they said it was reserved for groups of 5 or more (which was a lie because weâve sat there many times before), I pointed out that there was a family of 3 (just like ours) sitting in another booth that was allegedly for 5 people, and the hostess said thereâs actually four peopleâone was in the restroom (another lie; there was not four people in that party because nobody ever came out from the ârestroomâ). Also, the hostess proceeded to sit a party of 2 at the booth that they had previously not let us sit because they claimed the booth was for parties of five peopleâproving their original lie. I will not be returning.

We had a nice brunch here recently. The kids in our party enjoyed their chocolate chip pancakes. The breakfast enchiladas were a group favorite. The grilled cheese was great. The burger and fries were tasty and the salad was huge. The Joe's cheesy balls were a great appetizer. There is plenty of seating inside and on the patio. The service was a little slow but they were busy.

I used to love Ellenâs and frequented the downtown Dallas location and the one on I-75, both of which have closed in the last couple years. So I drove all the way to this location today and walked in about 25 minutes before closing. I try not to show up at places too close to closing time, but it was unavoidable today and I was always in and out in about 30 minutes at the other locations. It doesnât take long to cook or eat the breakfast entree that I always order.
I stood in the entry for about 10 minutes with no employees visible anywhere. Finally someone came out and told me the kitchen had closed a few minutes before. How convenient.
I wonât bother making the effort to come here again.

Marleen is one of the best servers I've ever had she is so sweet and very on point with the service even though it was super busy she made sure to take care of us in a timely manner and the eggs Benedict is the best I've ever had as well đ
I decided to get the breakfast platter. Pancakes were perfectly cooked they were nice and fluffy with a buttery and savory taste. They didnât need much syrup at all. Speaking of the syrup itâs self, it actually had flavor as well and didnât just taste like sugar. The eggs were nice and fluffy, and the bacon and hash browns were ok. The bacon tasted more so like store brought quality instead of restaurant quality and the hash browns was a bit underwhelming. If I came again I would get the same thing just different sides.

They're a very decent breakfast place. A bit pricey but the food is good.
I'm shocked that this place has only four stars. It was very clean, everyone there was extremely nice, and the food was delicious.
On this day, the food was just good. I'm not sure if the cook changed. The last time I ordered the shrimp and grits, it didn't have cooked spinach in it. But it was ok, I don't like cooked greens.
It was soooooooo good. I canât wait to go back when Iâm not working to try their mimosas. Went during lunch and was immediately sat. Kind service, clean restroom, and delicious food. Highly recommend you go if you are a breakfast lover.
The servers are always nice and professional, and the food is amazing. I took a friend from out of town and he said he wants to go back every time he visits from now on.
