What a beautiful restaurant in the Hall Arts Hotel. The ambience is lovely and the waitstaff are excellent. Last evening, we took our daughter there for her 21st birthday, for a small intimate family event. Our waiter, the bartender, and the chef went above and beyond to make the experience so very special. The whipped feta appetizer was delicious, my husband had the organic chicken, I had the red fish, my daughter had the portabella mushroom burger, and her friend had the salmon. Everyone's meal was perfect. The chocolate cake for the birthday celebratory dessert was divine. I highly recommend going for any occasion. It's the ideal place to eat (or go for a drink) before heading to the Meyerson Symphony Hall, AT&T Arts Center, or the Majestic Theater, and it's just steps away from all three venues. I will most definitely go back!
Honest review from former service (server) industry! I was hoping this place would be better than it was, but I was extremely disappointed especially for a high-end Dallas restaurant. I came in with my partner and took about 5 minutes for a hostess to seat us...mind you the restaurant was NOT busy; several tables were open...I don't know if they were understaffed, but I at least saw 5 servers which was plenty for the amount of people inside. I get it though, no worries there. Took about 10 minutes for our server to greet us and take our drink orders, which no problem at all, I get it, I was a server too (even though the restaurant wasn't busy)...There was no sense of urgency at all though. We were super polite, and still not irritated yet. We put in our drink orders and ordered the lamb pops which were really good, then put in our food order. We waited 45 minutes for our food and for a refill and NEVER got anything. We didn't receive any refills or our food. Multiple servers including our own walked by us and made eye contact and didn't ask us if we were okay or told us our food was coming soon...mind you tables around us got their food and got service. Never got food, never got checked on. I got up to ask a server if he could tell our server if we could just get our food boxed up and the check super politely, and he said “okay I will.” I watched him not do that so basically ignored me. Our own server walked by us multiple times and said nothing, including other servers as well...we just wanted to leave and get out of there. Didn't be a Karen at all and was super polite...didn't even complain. Left cash on the table and walked out. No one said anything to us. The first red flag should've been a somewhat empty restaurant on a Saturday night. We won't be coming back again unfortunately. I expected better for it being in Dallas...maybe future customers will have a better experience than we did. :(
Supposedly fine dining but we're disappointed. I'd ordered ceviche as a starter, Caesar salad, and my wife had picked the salmon for her main course. Ceviche and the salmon were both below average. I've eaten ceviche in four different Latin American countries and can tell the difference between good and okay ceviche. This was just okay! The salmon was a 7 oz filet, just ok because while it was cooked ok but the tiny bit of vegetables accompanying it had no taste to speak of! The ambience is like a bar and the furniture was not all that comfortable. We were seated at a small round table with two chairs.
One of the most amazing brunch experiences here in dallas. Jazz music on a sunday morning enjoying a nice brunch and coffee. I love this place and will be back here soon!

I never thought I would ever be compelled to share a review about a salad! I was in town on a business trip and sought out Ellie's more from a convenience standpoint. As I was scanning the menu a symbol caught my eye next to the Harvest Salad indicating it was an Ellie's Speciality. I found that very curious and took a chance ordering it with steak as my protein. It has to be the best salad I have ever had in my life!! This is not some mixed greens and tomatoes thrown together. The Harvest Salad is so thoughtfully prepared that I don't think I could reproduce it. I will definitely be back at Ellie's whenever I am in town and will be ordering it. The Vanilla Custard and Parmesan Fries were stellar also btw. Enjoy!

Went with a group of about 9. Our table was not ready at reservation time and we waited 20 minutes for it to become available. After ordering, it took about 35 minuets for appetizers to come out, then an additional hour for our food. It also came cold. Not a great experience.
Our waitress was very nice and friendly though, and there was an issue with one of the meals and they comped it. Over all a pretty disappointing experience.

Service was slow and food was just ok. Beautiful hotel restarting that ended up being a disappointment
We arrived for our Anniversary dinner and cocktails before the Jeff Goldblum show across the street at Winspear. Other than HAVING our reservation, they got nothing right. Total disappointment. I'm too busy to write out how poorly the restaurant was ran that evening. Perhaps a call from the F&B Manager in charge would be best? 214.682.2681 -Thanks
Elegant settings within the Hall Arts Hotel, very artsy, yet warm and welcoming lounge and restaurant. Attentive service with a smile, great cocktails, small but varied menu with the right options to choose from, and live music during my Saturday's visit. An excellent choice before attending any events in the arts district. I will be back.
Ellie’s in Dallas crushed it with their chilaquiles 🔥 The tortialls were so flavorful, and the eggs on top were spot on. Our server was super sweet. So good definitely coming back for this brunch!

This was our first Experience with your restaurant. At first, we were very impressed! Our server,Tanner, seemed to be an excellent waiter. When my husband ordered his redfish, it came with something gluten side so he said please don’t give me that. It’s our fault we didn’t ask for a substitution. We just assumed they would substitute it with something else because he couldn’t eat what was on the menu. Our server should have suggested something else as substitution. When his meal came, all he got was fish in sauce. He said it was excellent, but that was it, nothing else for $38. I think he should have been given another side! When the main course was over, we decided to have dessert since we all were still hungry. We waited a half an hour or so for Tanner came back!! When he did he very sheepishly said, I’m so sorry but there’s no one in the kitchen to plate up your dessert!! Since we were almost late for our play at the Winspear, we left with not a very good impression! Drinks were also extremely expensive! You really don’t mind paying the extra if you get the quality! Sadly, we didn’t!!!

I have heard about this place many times but I finally went to celebrate my friend's birthday. I heard this place is popular and crowded therefore I made a reservation which was simple and easy. Ellie's is located inside Hall Arts Hotel which is surrounded by art pieces inside and outside the hotel that made great picture opportunities. I do recommend valet because the parking around the hotel and restaurant was $15 and up but with valet it's only $5 since we were going to Ellie's. The jazz trio started around 11am (we went on Sunday) and they weren't too loud that you could still have conversation and enjoy the music. I had the Sunrise Sandwich with salad and my friend had a Burger with Parmesan Fries. They were also so nice where there was no more Prosecco and was able to substitute with Champagne. Lilly our server was awesome and overall everything was great.

The food was good but service lacking. Understaffed and disorganized is best description. Wait and barstaff didnt seem professional. The host stand is oddly in the center of the restaurant leaving you confused and searching when entering the restaurant.
