I heard about this bakery from when I dined in a Lake Highlands Cafe. So we decided to make the trip over to Empire baking Co. It is a nice little place, they offer a variety of items from baked goods (mainly breads and a few cookies and scones/muffins.). They have some items in coolers like sandwiches and drinks. Shelves with some marmalades and jams. Very nice and clean inside. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk with. The sell around 14-16 different kind of breads, some notable ones we saw, sourdough rounds, white loaf, jalapeno cheese sourdough. We bought a pecan raisin bread, they told us they did not use an added sugar in it which intrigued my wife and I. We got in the car and couldn't wait to try it and wow. Between the flavor and the texture it was really good and the raisins did a great job added just enough sweetness to bring everything together. We will definitely be back to try other items they sell.

For Rosh Hashana I pre-ordered ruggelech and challah. The ruggelech wasn't traditional at all, but it was tasty. It was on the drier side instead of stick and moist like every other ruggelech I've had. It also contained a lot of nuts, which I wasn't expecting and which wasn't mentioned on the menu. They're also twice the size of most ruggelech I've had, so I cut them in half before serving. Haven't had the challah yet, but it looks delicious. Will update once I try it!

We love Empire Baking Co! I've been a customer for many years & typically have my favorites. I recently introduced my partner. He loved it & then introduced his out-of-state daughters to it. They're very discerning & raved about everything we bought. In the process of shopping, I had the opportunity to visit with the manager, & her suggestions were marvelous. I wish that we didn't live 200 miles away, but each time we're in Dallas (which is fortunately @ least once/month), we'll be @ Empire to stock up.

Very very expensive, I didn’t buy bread, so the making by hard response is not relevant. Cookies 3.50 each! Old bread toasted to salvage it 9.99 for about 20 thin pieces, tasted burnt.

Breads are amazing, they also offer an assortment of spreads to go with your bread. This time I tried the habanero mango aioli.
