I don't know why they haven't updated their hours but they close at 9P.M. not 9:30P.M as listed on the Google website. (Last Monday March 17th, when my partner and I were trying to show my mother that came from out of town 4+ hours...) Also when we got there at 8:56P.M. the Waitress (Forgot Name) was very agitated and rude and kept on rushing us saying "we are closing in 5 minutes." But, we were confused because we saw a lot of people eating and drinking outdoors.( The only reason I could think that they were mad at us is because we didn't want to sit outside and Drink) Also First time ever coming here that I have to sit up, stand up, and walk up to the waitress (if I could find her (1 out of 6 times))
Basically a one sentence summary of my review is- I usually love going to this place with my partner every week and they usually have wonderful food and service, but the one time we don't order alcohol, we had terrible service( the one time I was trying to impress my mom of the Mexican food in Dallas compared to near the border.(Even though nothing compares to the real thing.)
Wheelchair accessibility: Honestly it looked like it was too thin of a walkway for wheel chair or walker

Love the carne asada!
The beef fajitas are pretty good, with caramelized onions and the usual full spread.
Salsa here is not my favorite, but that's personal preference!
Queso with beef here is great!

Restaurant is super small but super cute! The food however, was not great. The quesadillas had very little cheese, very little meat, but a TON of grease. Door way way over priced for tiny portions. Overall nothing here worth coming back for.

Food so salty we could not eat. The manager was so rude when we told her we couldn’t eat our food.

Great food and service.
Pictures here is the steak and eggs, and the burrito.
Both were fantastic - The potatoes are delicious and crispy, while remaining soft in the center.
The steak was tasty as well.

Some of the best steak tacos I've ever had, my grandfather also said the salmon was the best he's had in years

I've now been here twice in the last two years, with both of my visits returning stellar experiences. I can, with confidence, recommend the brisket tacos and enchiladas, though I'd gladly return to try many other menu items with different proteins, too.
From friendly, accommodating staff to a cozy, well-kept, and clean restaurant facility to warm patio seating (with blankets and heaters in the winter, at least as of early 2023), the service and atmosphere were also fantastic.
While I won't call it a place at which you want to eat every night, I can confidently recommend Escondido to those in the area, whether residents or visitors.

Received a gift card to try. Convenient location, good parking. Greeted promptly by Alicia. Great service. Entrees from the brunch menu. Heuvos Ranchero and Carne Asada with sunny side up eggs. All done very well. Not your typical Tex-Mex, very flavorful and well prepared.

This is not good food. Very nice place for a drink just don’t eat at this restaurant if you like flavor or Mexican food.

Fantastic experience!!! The food was incredibly flavorful and authentic, the ambiance was cozy and enjoyable, and the service was outstanding.
I highly recommend the following:
Appetizer: queso perfecto with guacamole and their house made salsa & Tex mex pizza.
Entree: chile relleno with steak
Dessert: donuts
Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. I’ll definitely be returning.

We love this place! Great food and patio.
When I got to the restaurant, I was immediately seated and chips and salsa was brought to us. They took our order and the appetizers/entrees came out surprisingly fast. The workers were very nice and the atmosphere was beautiful. Please come here!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Escondido in Dallas, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the main courses, you could tell that only the freshest ingredients were used.
The atmosphere was fantastic, creating the perfect balance of cozy and vibrant. It had an inviting, relaxed vibe, with beautiful décor that made you feel like you were in a special place.
What really stood out, though, was the service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. Every detail was taken care of with a smile.
Overall, Escondido is a true gem in Dallas, and I can’t wait to return! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, a wonderful atmosphere, and top-notch service.
