The food wasn't bad but the portion sizes were tiny. I had the olive oil cake after and wasn't great either and still hungry after. The drinks, service, and atmosphere were great though. Would come back but for drinks only.

Check this place out!

We did and “Oh wow” were my first words walking from the parking lot into the Far Out backyard. It feels like a West Texas escape — creative, comfortable, and made for a cocktail.

It was a cool night, so we headed inside. Warm lighting, high ceilings, and easy style.

I had a nonalcoholic gin mocktail that was delicious. Dinner favorites were the cured fish crudo with habanero, cilantro oil, and dukah, and the corn fritters with tomatillo jam. Both packed serious flavor.

Dessert was the best surprise: pear meringue with fennel crème and an olive oil cake with layers of apple — fermented, pickled, and caramelized. Unreal.

Inventive menu, beautiful space, and kind staff. Far Out is the real deal. Great job, Allison and team!

We finally got the chance to check out Far-Out Dallas, where Misti Norris and several of her team members from Petra and the Beast are currently at. We have been huge fans of Misti's food since dining at the orignal Petra location. The food was delicious! No, it's not cheap. But we really enjoyed everything we tried last night. We're in East Dallas near the Arboretum, and it was a quick 8 - 10 minute drive from our house, which is awesome! Far-Out will definitely be one of our regular go to restaurants!

Retro laid back atmosphere with mediocre food. Both margarita flavors are good and strong otherwise I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant. One try is good enough. The chicken plate is gonna be your best choice for a dinner plate but no sides are included. The pasta dish was horrible. Very limited menu. The Spicy bean dip appetizer was decent for two people. And if you go with a group they won’t split the check. So be prepared to put everything on one card. It’s also very cold inside so you might need a jacket.

This place is great! Brought my wife here for a date and did not leave disappointed. The atmosphere, food/drinks, service is top notch! Nice touch of fine dining with a laid back atmosphere. Servers described the food nicely, the drinks were well made and overall I left impressed. I’m definitely coming back! If you’re expecting a bunch of mediocre food along with drinks this is NOT the place for you.

Food didn’t taste very fresh, the service was great but the food was nothing special. A bit overpriced. It’s family style so you’ll get full price for very small portions.

Honestly bar tenders were horrible. Wouldn't come back. They don't give a bucket of ice to keep beers cold outside, busboy made it happen after hearing us talk about it. Theyre smart asses, said over and over didn't have high noon, but magically they found some when called out after people next to us walked out with them. Bar tender was more worried about everything else around the bar than taking our order.

Busy cuisine, some worked, some didn't. I really liked this place and it is sooo close to five stars.... My wife and I came for supper - I began with their corn fritters (16) while my wife tried a Daniela From Puebla (15)(elderberry liqueur with tequila and things) and loved it . For our entrees my wife got scallop crudo (17) and Wagyu dumplings (19), while I got the special: squash milanese (15)(pattypan steaks with some crema - vegetables blended with sour creme). Not the most comfortable of surroundings, but new and nice. Wonderful attentive staff. The vibe of a bar presented as a restaurant - better to eat at in the daylight. The food: I got almost enough to eat with the corn fritters and the squash milenese. I almost had an issue with my wife's selections. Her very small bowl of scallops just tasted weird - not bad,but not good either. I ate the tofu cubes out of her dumplings broth and they just plain tasted wrong - like restroom sanitizer - not uninteresting, but wrong. Big money for small portions. Interesting, but insubstantial in a number of ways. Might be back, but Kalachandji's is so close......

Cool spot in the heart of the city. The staff was friendly. They didn't have any table service for the outdoor space and the bar wait was a little long.

Such an excellent patio and bar vibe that I wasn’t expecting given location-I went for chef Norris who always crushes it, this time the tri tip and potato were excellent as was the white bolognese.
