Went today for Valentines Day for lunch. We had to pay dinner price because all they offered. The instructions confusing. Poor experience and paid $65 for two people.
I have visited this location many times and never had an issue until yesterday evening. I went to eat with my partner and ordered the premium buffet for us both. We both ordered one order of the kimchi fried rice each. While eating the kimchi fried rice, I saw a long black hair deep inside the kimchi fried rice. Keep in mind that I had gone straight after work, so my hair was in a sleek bun. Right after I find the hair in my food and bring it up to the waiter, my partner finds another long black hair inside of his kimchi fried rice too. We let the waiter know that they might want to get rid of the entire batch since it is clearly contaminated. I couldn’t help but notice that the only person with long hair working the kitchen was not wearing a hair net. She was wearing her hair in a bun, but there were sections of the hair that were lose and could potentially fall into the food she was preparing . At the time of checkout, my thoughts were that as loyal customers, maybe they would offer to give us a discount for the inconvenience of not only the hair in our food, but also not having certain items that were in the menu available to us. Of course, the restaurant did not offer any discount, however it was to my surprise, they were instead trying to charge us more. If I had not checked the receipt, we would have been charged $10 for ramen that was included in the premium option. I brought this up to the waiter and he quickly apologized for the third inconvenience and removed it from the receipt. I understand that all of these mistakes were not the waiter’s fault, so we still tipped what was due, however it is very disappointing that the restaurant does not value the importance of loyal customers and clearly does not have any hygienic guidelines to prevent things like this from happening. Unfortunately, despite this being my favorite korean bbq place, i will not be returning because my health and hygiene is much more important to me.

The food is the only reason to come, so think twice before hosting a group dinner here ?
I’ve been here four times now with the same experience every time. Inattentive server waiting to turn over the table, almost slipping on the greasy floor, harsh lighting and loud environment. Thankfully the cuts of meat are amazing.
Pros:
- fantastic cuts of meat and fresh veggies
- always available seating even for big groups
- lots of selections for standard dinner deals
Cons:
- the premium meats are not worth the extra cost
- the floor is so greasy you are going to slip
- the waiters will turn off your grill after 45 mins
- inexperienced wait staff, no help recommending
- over priced extras, be careful ordering
Our favorite cuts:
- spicy pork belly
- Hawaiian steak
- honey chicken
- beef bulgogi
- rice cakes
- veggies
Vegetarian options: Veggies are an afterthought also if you are with a group you only have one grill, MAYBE two depending on the size of the table and you will have to have to put the veggies on the same surface as the meat. It’s not ideal at all and is a terrible price if you plan on just getting veggies.
Dietary restrictions: Tons of cross contamination due to the shared grill and single set of grilling tongs. Very little information on the menu for restrictions and ingredients. No warnings for marinated meats.
Parking: Big lot shared with surrounding stores. Never an issue.
Kid-friendliness: Not great for kids under 12. The grill is in reach and very hot, lots of raw meat everywhere, the dial for the grill is under the table and can be unsafe, the floor is greasy and slick.
Wheelchair accessibility: It was almost impossible for our grandpa to navigate this restaurant. Very dark and slick floors. Extremely unsafe.

My friend and I had the MOST DISAPPOINTING experience from any Gen’s we’ve been to. Our server, Julio was completely inattentive to us from the start. He kept disappearing for more than thirty minutes frequently. We ended up having to stay for two hours because we couldn’t order more and our orders would never come, while other tables got theirs quickly. Never once did the manager come in to check on us, or any other table. We couldn’t even find our server or manager once we were over it and wanted to pay. The server in the section next to us was amazing! And thankfully helped us out getting a new grill. We also noticed once our server, Julio got other tables, he was attentive to them but just left us out. I can only guess it was because they were all more than two people and he figured he would get more tips from them. After this disappointing experience there and others we’ve had there. We just decided to never go to that location again. Which sucks since my friend lives ten minutes away

absolutely terrible food. I never leave bad reviews but i just had to for this one because the experience made me so angry.
we had the regular all you can eat for two people. it was so bad we left while we were half full. I would've actually opted to starve for one meal than eat this.
The meat is terrible quality. And it comes out essentially frozen that when grilled, it will smell and taste nasty, as anyone who has an ounce of experience grilling meat would know.
Service wasn't great either - when they do bring the frozen dish of meat they just toss it on the table as if they're tossing pebbles at a lab guinea pig.
Arguably the worst KBBQ i've ever had in my life. this one actually, without exaggeration, tops it all. so much so that I now use it as a yardstick to know who has bad taste - anyone who recommends this place will instantly go on my list of "never trust any recs from this idiot".
If you want to spend $30 per person to find out what kbbq SHOULD NOT BE like, then try this place out.
have a nice day. i was having one until i ate here.

Shrimp had a bitter taste and was not fresh. Meat was dry.
Server and manager were lovely, though. A true pity.
Staff was attentive, guiding us through the grilling process and making sure we had everything we needed. Loved this place ??

He was
The server
The bus boy
The bar tender
The greeter
Only reason I’m giving 5 starts is bcs of him!
To TONY, thank you for your level of service and attention. Even though yall were busy and obviously short handed we as customers did not feel that and we appreciate you for that.

We came for lunch in Mountain View, Ca and they said today being Halloween they had to charge us dinner prices ($30 per person) it’s not the price that annoys me gen Korean bbq! It’s the principle of the matter! Stop taking advantage of your customers! Stop lying to us! 10/31/2024
We’ve been to Gen BBQ many times, but this was our first time at the Dallas, TX location, and it was a good experience! The quality of the meats was good, and we loved the variety of options, from marinated beef bulgogi to spicy pork belly. The banchan (side dishes) added so much flavor to our meal, and grilling. Special thank you to our server, Victor C., for the amazing service—he was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this location for a fantastic Korean BBQ experience!

Like others are saying, the service isn’t great here. We had to ask for side dishes multiple times and kept getting the wrong ones. As for the food, firstly the kimchi is terrible here, I’m not sure what they’ve done to it but it fails in comparison to the other gen locations. Another thing I noticed is, there is no spicy or garlic shrimp at this location, the only shrimp they serve has the head and tails on still. We normally love gen bbq but we won’t be eating at this location again.
