Went for a birthday dinner and was there for 4 hours and spent about 20 minutes of that eating. It was not busy at all and it took a very long time for the food to come out. Many parties at the restaurant left after receiving slow service and discovering they were “out” of a lot of things on the menu.

Had a reservation planned a month out for a special occasion. They decide to wait until the day before to let me know they were going to be closing for construction, something I imagine they knew was happening more than 24 hours in advance, and they would be unable to host us. I will never be eating here, I am appalled at the lack of consideration they have for people.

The ambience of the resturant is beautiful and the food was great. My complaint is the customer service. We brought a cake and asked the hostess if she'd put it in the kitchen for us. She happily took it with no issue. Upon receiving our check, there was an undisclosed fee of $25 for a cake storage fee.The second flag was major. The server brought my ticket which was $89.60 ($13 gratuity automatically added in). She brought back my receipt for be to sign and ran my card $110.80. When I told her she gave me the wrong receipt, she said no I added your calamari. I didn't have calamari!! She claims to have adjusted the check to $92 and asked to run my card again. No! I called the manager over and he his remark was "Oh she made a mistake". He completely brushed off the fact that she STOLE from my by charging an unauthorized amount on my card then changed to fix it but never adjusted the gratuity ($3.20). I left with 6 receipts and not even so much as an apology for the inconvenience. Now my card has $200 pending for the next few days due to an error on THEIR part. I wholeheartedly believe the server does that alot. She likely overcharges drunk or unsuspecting customers AFTER they agree to pay the tab and don't expect them to review it. I asked the manager to comp or cover my $15 valet and he said he couldn't do anything about valet. I know where my to take my business or money to in the future. What a shame

2 weekends ago I went to Harpers. It was extremely cold that night and I was confused on where to enter and apparently went to a second door that did not have the hostess desk(face palm). A bit disoriented I seated myself at the bar. The bar tenders were extremely attentive and sweet. The place was definitely bustling, and it would be nice place to go with a group of friends. The food was extremely flavorful, and the drinks were good pours. My only complaint would be management. Earlier that evening there was a man in a suit that walked behind the bar and didn't speak or say anything to me, which is fine not all establishments have their workers acknowledge guests. He went to the end of the bar to attend to 2 Caucasian females(which wouldn't have been important to mention until a statement he made) He made them drinks, and laughing it up, the girls made a joke about the drink being something like a "white girl special" (can't remember exact phrase) . However, the manager proceeded to laugh and "say perfect that's exactly my demographic." While in a business context there was nothing wrong with this statement. However, as a guest who is not caucasian and it being stated loud enough to be heard by others, not so cool.I ended up having a question about my bill at the end of the night and the bar tender went and got a manger. Guess who it was that same manager. So I asked my questions, and then seized the opportunity to mention to him about what I heard and that it didn't give me the best feeling. I felt that he was a bit arrogant because in a matter of fact tone he asked me what was the problem with what he said, basically looking at me like where was the lie. Taken aback I explained to him that being that he is a manager, not acknowledging guest and then making a open statement such as that was not a good look. He didn't offer an apology or seemed unbothered. After he left I asked the bartender his name and it was Anthony,Unfortunately, after speaking to Anthony that put a bad taste in my mouth, and it deflated my evening. I'm a huge foodie and I was scoping out places to have my birthday. After, this experience though, I don't think I will be coming back. I hate to make a bad seed ruin my experience, but if management thinks this way it only trickles down from there.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Harper's in Dallas and I must say, the experience was great. The food at Harper's was delicious. We ordered a range of foods from the appetizers to the main course, each bite tasted good. I didn’t care for the chocolate cake though and they are a bit overpriced for the desserts. The atmosphere at Harper's was also quite impressive. The restaurant had a nice, cozy ambiance that made for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. The lighting was warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. One thing that stood out during our visit was the birthday celebration. We had mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday when we made our reservation, and Harper's went above and beyond to make it special. They brought out sparklers and a delicious carrot cake, which was a delightful surprise. They also have where you can get birthday menus with your name. It added an extra touch of celebration to the evening and made the birthday celebration memorable.Harper's is conveniently located in Deep Ellum, so parking can be a bit hassle. Parking options include street parking or valet service for $15. I did valet because it’s convenient for to the restaurant without worrying about finding a parking spot.Overall, I recommend Harper's in Dallas. The food was good, there was a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service and was definitely worth a visit.

This review is long overdue. My husband & I treated our family here for dinner after a performance at the Windsor Opera House. Since there was 6 of us, we ordered the Harper’s surf and turf, char siu pork chop, & alfredo cream spinach. Not only that the food was perfect in every single way - the tomahawk was cooked perfect medium rare & the char siu crisp on the outside and flavorful on the inside. I was pleasantly surprised that the lobster was buttery, soft, and stringy (AKA not overcooked lol). Plus, the service was just as amazing. Thank you Harper’s for a great night of celebration during the holiday season.

Came here for our anniversary. Never acknowledged service was beyond basic probably because gratuity is already included. The reviews for this place says it all. Will never be returning.

Sticker Shock. I ordered a whiskey sour with jack daniels (not an old fashion) and my friend ordered an expresso martini. Check was $57.86 smh. If you’re gonna charge $25 for a basic whiskey sour with jack daniels…please ask how i want it made. Went around the corner and had three really good appetizers and 4 great drinks for $98!

On Wednesday January 3rd my 4 other guest and I arrived to our reservation that was booked 2 weeks prior at 8:30pm. We checked in with the hostess and then asked can we sit down and order & then head outside to take a couple of group photos with our photographer. The hostess insisted that it would be best for us to take the photos first & then sit at our table and enjoy our meal. This was at 8:40. At 8:56 the hostess steps outside and says "the kitchen is closing at 9 & we needed to come back in. When booking this reservation for 8:30 there was no information stating the kitchen closed at 9, when confirming our reservation at 4:30pm that day there was no mention that the kitchen closed at 9, and lastly when checking in at 8:30pm(our reservation time) there was no mention the kitchen closed a 9pm. We obviously still came inside as we would've loved to enjoy our food. Upon receiving waters our server Kareem stated "the kitchen is closing early at 9 because it's slow". We received our food, drinks, and went on with our meal. When confirming the reservation at 4:30pm I also asked were separate check allowed. Whoever makes the reservation conformations informed me that "yes" they are. Once asking for our check we were told that it is only one check but Harper's allows 4 separate cards which was also not previously stated. Then we were told that we had to add up the totals of all of our meals. Why wasn't this something they could do from our side I am not sure. When expressing our frustrations with the manager on duty he was rude and not helpful. He also had an oh well attitude which did not make us fee accommodated or welcomed. Seems like there is a miscommunication with staff and an overall lack luster energy. I am disappointed and do not plan on returning or recommending this facility.

I did my 30th birthday here with 30 people and it was amazing! The whole team from start to finish all made my day so special. Food was great (and hot!) drinks were delicious, the atmosphere is absolutely incredible and the service is amazing! I was nervous going with such a big group but the night couldn’t have gone more smoothly/fun. 10/10 would recommend and can’t wait to go back again!

Had so much things go wrong the day we went. All the food came out at very different times and one plate even came out when everyone was done eating. Pastas were all cold from the moment we got them and had to send all 4 of them back. We had to keep asking about the plates missing and i’m pretty sure the server did not have some plates down. Ordered some wine and it took about 35 minutes for it to come out. Once we got the checks we got overcharged for stuff we did not even receive. SAFE TO SAY I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. SPEND THAT MONEY SOMEPLACE ELSE BECAUSE THE FOOD IS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Also don’t get the mac and cheese, it was the most bland mac and cheese i’ve ever had.
