Heim Barbecue on Mockingbird

Freaking awesome!

The bbq was good. Brisket was a little fatty though. Turkey was a little dry but it usually is at bbq places. The chicken was good. Spicy dry rub. The fries were good. Decent Mac and cheese. I had the regular and my boyfriend had the other one. The onion rings were pretty bad though. Wayyy too much batter, the onions weren't sweet and fairly flavorless, just not crispy at all. We ended up taking them home and putting them in the airfryer. They got crispier but were still flavorless. I wouldn't eat them again. Prices were reasonable.

This was my first time eating at any Heim location and it was delicious! I had the Heim sampler with a side of pinto beans and couldn’t be happier with my choose. I also had the Blonde micro-brew beer which was tasty. The service was excellent as well, I was attended by Stephanie and she went above and beyond. The location is close to the airport so next time I visit Dallas I am definitely gonna stop here first!

Causal atmosphere with great food. If you are ever by Love Field, this is a must try. Loved the brisket, chicken, onion rings, green chili mac and cheese, and twice baked potato salad. Compared to Hutchins, the food and price were much better!

Good food. Not a big selection of sides but the meats were amazing. I'd definitely go back when the weather is warmer to enjoy the awesome patio.

Let me just stay off by saying Heim bbq is delicious and I frequent this location. My review is based solely on the customer service of one individual. I was waiting in line there were two cashiers a young lady with dark brownish/reddish hair and a gentleman. Everytime I come in the genteleman who was at the register on the right is very sweet. However the young lady seems to always have an attitude or looks as if she does not want to be bothered. She assisted two customers and I was next in line as the other cashier was still assisting a customer. Instead of her asking to assist me she looked at me and walked away from the register no acknowledgement at all. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last few months with the same young lady. I’m not sure what her issue may be but I don’t believe it is acceptable to assist 2 customers and not acknowledge the next one. When she reappeared her phone was in her hand.

So I decided to visit this location after passing to and from DAL. Upon walking in I noticed a decent amount of people sitting and eating so it looked like we were in for some good eats. I ordered the 3 meat combo (Pork ribs, Jalapeno sausage and Brisket) with the green chili mac and cheese with greens. And an order of burnt ends to go. Also want to see how good the $4.49 brownie could be. The service was decent but after receiving the meals... was the moment I knew that I messed up. 🤦🏿‍♂️ The ribs were okay, but literally slivers with much bone, the 1 slice of brisket was very wet and fatty, and the sausage had cheese but very little flavor. The sides were not any better and actually cold from the buzzer to my hand. Keep in mind my visit was short after 5:30 pm so when was this food cooked? I figured that brownies would salvage this dining experience but they were brittle and stale. So I left them with everything on the plate. I get home to see 3-4 "burnt" ends that were not done well and just as old. Maybe this was a bad night, new cook or this food was cooked at another time but I am good and will look elsewhere for that BBQ fix.

Their beef ribs are a damn spiritual experience.
