First time in 30 years I walked in saw precooked fish and shrimp laying out on the counter in front of the fryer..I thought if I ordered fish and shrimp surely they won't re-cook that . They did . Twice cooked hard as a rock fish dry as toast inside. The girl at the counter didn't look very much like she wanted to be there. Not friendly at all. As I said in all the years never had poor food or cs like this at Hook line.

Food was excellent . It was so cold that our food was COLD before we could finish it.
Asked 3 times to turn the temperature up. People could not enjoy their meal because of the cold temperature inside.

I’ve enjoyed this place for years. The seafood always tastes fresh. This trip I ordered the gumbo and added sausage. Parking can be a bit tight when it’s busy, but otherwise, I can easily recommend this place.

It’s definitely a hidden jewel in oak lawn. The catfish and fries are worth trying! Nice views of downtown Dallas and city lights. The food is very delicious! The only downfall is the limited seating they have and the service. Well I didn’t receive the best service. They took almost while to take my order so I stood at the counter for the longest. The guy taking orders cared more to deliver food to tables than to take my order. Then when my food was ready I had to go to the counter and get it myself. Almost everyone in the place got their food delivered to their table but I did not. Rather than that it is definitely worth trying and I will definitely be a regular here!

I was not impressed at all with the 2pc fish and shrimp I ordered from here. There is NO, I REPEAT, NO SEASONING on any of it. It was not tasty at all. I ordered ahead and arrived within the 15 minutes quoted for pickup. I sat in the resturant for about 20 minutes only to have to ask about my order that had been sitting on top off the grill area getting cold. The cashier who took my payment didn't bother to let anyone know I had arrived over 20 minutes earlier as well as employees walked past me multiple times with other orders and didn't ask what I had been waiting on. Just poor communication and customer service. I will not be returning simply because the food was not good.

Update 2/23/25. I'm sorry to say I'm not sure if the owners change or cooks but the food was a disappointment. Never coming back.

The staff here are great very helpful and polite food is delicious here their location is ok but they do need a bigger place some times their is a longer wait but I would say it's worth the wait too

Great fried shrimp and catfish, casual space and a good neighborhood vibe.

Hot! Fresh! Horrible. They asked if I wanted it seasoned. It's not seasoned well . It's bland. Lots of fries. They too are tasteless. I really want my money back but it's not their fault they can't cook fish. Even hot sauce didn't help.

The food was terrible, the crab was overheated and had black pieces, we couldn't eat it, it was paid for and thrown away!! We really had a very bad experience.

Food is pretty decent. I’m curious and want to come back and explore the menu To try a variety of other things. I had a catfish and shrimp po boy with fries. I want to come back and get the frog legs. The service was ok and the reason i say that is because… well I thought this was a restaurant where a host greets you and a server shows you where you are going to be sitting. So we go in and nobody tells us that we order 1st and find our own place to sit. We weren’t greeted nor did any employee tell us what to do. We basically figured it out on our own, but it would’ve been at least decent to be greeted with instructions instead of just standing and waiting around til we figure it out.
