I visited Hungry Belly on 12/30 to place a to-go order as I have 15-20 times before. I ordered chicken fried rice and a rainbow roll with only tuna on top since I do not like salmon or whitefish. Hungry Belly and every other sushi restaurant in the area has accommodated this request for years but tonight the manager at Hungry Belly said no accommodations were allowed due to the price implications and that the new owner was present. I have never had an issue with this accommodation previously and was even willing to pay for a slight up charge to make it happen, but after the manager went to speak with the new owner he said this tuna only accommodation would result in the price of the roll going up 2x ($36 vs $18). I decided it was best to leave and take my business elsewhere as I did not feel this request was too much to ask, especially if I was able to do so in the past with no issues and was willing to pay for a slight up charge (not 2x). The food may be good, but the customer service was absolutely terrible and as a result I will never go back nor would I recommend anyone else does.
I really wish I was able to try the food I had ordered when I came to this place for the first time, but unfortunately I won’t be returning at all based on my experience I had here. This past Saturday my cousin had recommended this place to me, knowing that I love Raman and i was excited to try this place. We decided to go have lunch. We both had our toddlers with us, her daughter 2yrs and my son 3yrs. Unfortunately our time was cut short due to the manager approaching me to ask if I could have my son be quiet or keep it down a little. I responded Very politely, I’m sorry, but I can’t control that. She then walked away And proceeded to tell another gentleman, my response to her. I was in complete shock For what she had asked me to do. My son was not crying, whining or throwing a Tantrum, he was simply excited and was playing with his toy cars on the table. Shortly after that happened, we decided to wrap it up. Also too that they didn’t deserve our service if we are being asked to keep my son quiet. I would have completely understood if my son was being loud or being fussy at that, My son is Nonverbal not that it was any of their business, but what made me more upset as the fact that they asked me to have him be quiet instead of asking if they could move us to a different spot in the restaurant or simply accommodating us. I didn’t really speak to the manager after she approached me, but I would definitely recommend them to be more specific on if their restaurant is not kid friendly to avoid any other situations that may come about in the future. I do believe I handled this very well seeing that others Would have maybe made a bigger deal about it. I hope that this doesn’t happen to anybody else.
Kid-friendliness: Not Kid Friendly at all!!!
Let me start by saying that the servers at this restaurant have always done a wonderful job. Very polite and attentive. My husband and I loved coming to this restaurant for their fast service and delicious ramen. Unfortunately we will not return due to a very uncomfortable encounter I had. I recommended this restaurant to my cousin and we decided to go on a Saturday. She had her three year old son and I had my two year old daughter. We were seated, ordered appetizers and waited on the entree. While waiting, my cousin’s kiddo being a toddler that he is, was simply expressing his happiness and shouting with happiness and laughing. He was not screaming to the point of disruption. The manager approaches my cousin and asks her if she can have her toddler keep it down. My cousin was in shock and politely let her know she could not control that. The manager then asked her again, walked off and told a man who seem to be her higher up, and he just stared at us as if we were being disruptive. No options for accommodating us were made! It was more of politely asking us to leave because a child was simply being a child and expressing himself. Keep in mind, this is a nonverbal child who uses different means of expressing himself, and we were not treated as customers and more as people who were being disruptive. My cousin kindly gathered her things and her little boy to leave while I sat back to cover the check for the not even half eaten food we had ordered. I approached the manager and kindly let her know that the way she approached the situation was not the best way. I let her know there can be a disability involved and her asking us to keep it down without providing any option to accommodate us, was not the best way to provide customer service. She politely apologized and let us know if she knew that, she would have offered the patio. But even in that scenario, there should be a sign of some sort communicating “kid friendly patio available”. We were in complete disbelief, and as a mother, I almost felt hurt because I could not be in a place of business, feeling comfortable that my kid can be a kid. I understand if this was a high-end, private, expensive dining, but that is not the case. Of course, you always need to control your children, but we were not being disruptive, disrespectful, to anyone or the business itself. I was hurt! So if you have kiddos, please save yourself some time from coming to this restaurant. I would really hate for a mother or father to go through what we went through because it honestly was a sad situation. All the best to this business and to the manager. I really hope this is an eye-opener to better serve your clients for future business. I mean this in the most respectful way.

Ordered through door dash, but everything I ordered came correctly + napkins and silverware so service is great; just can’t speak to the inside space/vibes. Got a few different rolls and all were reasonably priced. Started with edamame, standard, good crunch, lightly salted. Also had the shrimp gyoza, solid flavor and a nice dipping sauce on the side. Got a spicy tuna roll, eel roll, dragon roll and rainbow roll. Star of the show was the eel and dragon roll, others were fairly mid with less flavor.
I just picked up a to go order - $85 worth of food. Sushi sampler, a roll, sashimi sampler. There was a giant, black hair smack dab on the middle of my sashimi.
The fish is inedible. Fishy smelling, fishy tasting, and weirdly cut. My wife and I just dumped it in the trash.
We have ordered from here many times and it has never been this bad. What a shame.

I got a pick-up order. The Galbi was seriously burned :(. And I didn't get some of the sides that usually come with it. But so much of the meat was burned I was very disappointed. Don't recommend.

Visiting Dallas and looking for a place that might appeal to the family. We dined here for lunch. Wait staff was excellent and patient with us. Did not feel rushed. Food was good overall.

Definitely a MUST TRY spot - small parking lot - big tasty food portions - good service - atmosphere is fine, pretty close together tables, etc. A TON of TO GO and PICKUP orders - so it’s very popular.
The food was a tad on the salty side for me - but it’s also part of some of the choices I made - like the Spam and adding sauces to items. But portions are large and they have a SUPER awesome Happy Hour Menu…tried the cold sake (the hot sake would have been better) but it was just okay. The spam was super salty for my taste so I could only eat one piece. The Pork Katsu Bento Box was great - a little variety of different items to try and it was super tasty!
Parking: SUPER tiny parking lot and very TIGHT.
