We were told we could wait for a table to be cleaned in the front or we could go to the back. The back had nobody to show us to a table so we picked one. After 5 minutes of waiting, the hostess showed another group that had arrived after us to a table and started talking their orders. We left.

Yakitori is fine. Chicken teriyaki was over done. Poor quality rice. Slow service.

Fabulous karage torri (Japanese fried chicken)! Great tempura! Lovely fish flown in from Japan. Chef Noni really knows his stuff! I'll be back next week.

A little disappointed. It's gone downhill which is too bad because I like local spots. They used to have real crab in their California rolls; not anymore. The ramen used to be delicious but the broth, which is the most important part, has zero flavor now. 20$ lunch special with two rolls used to be great but a California roll with fake crab and a spicy tuna roll isn't worth it. I hope they go back to their higher standards. Also when I picked it up they had the hot ramen broth and the cold sushi in the same bag which I don't think is right to have lukewarm sushi. Bummed out... :(

Huge stuffed arepa! Chicken salad with greens and avocado + sauce. Was super hungry and couldn’t wait to dig in. Grapevine TX

Water smells like wet dogEverything is insanely over priced. No one is going to pay 30 for a rollHand roll is 12.50 are you nutsMenu is badly designed, it's a piece of paper on a wooden board secured with rubber bands that barely hold it in place Very small restaurant, not suited for large crowds Brussel sprouts were delicious, $12 Miso soup's flavor was very lightIt was pretty empty when we went but the server got our sushi order wrong. He then acted like taking the wrong roll (rainbow roll) off our bill was a huge deal. I would have been more happy if he just took it away honestly. The texture was mealy. Speaking of their service it was very average. He forgot who ordered what and didn't listen to us while we were ordering so we had to repeat ourselves Sushi didn't taste as fresh as other places in the area.Rice was over cooked for all of the sushi, really disappointing Butterfly kiss was the best roll we had, flavorful and rice less Second best was the spicy tuna because the tuna was well seasoned but rice was still over cooked and the seaweed must have been stale cause it was chewy Spider roll is always my favorite to order but they don't cook it with soft shell crab and the flavor was super bland Grandmother enjoyed the stomp tempuraMother got the chicken teriyaki and said it was fine Horribly small parking lot Honestly save yourself and go to KU Sushi insteadI'm really hoping we don't get food poisoning, I'll update the review if we do.

The hamachi lover is okay to me. Nothing really special about it. Maybe because I like crunchy like California roll or

There's a lot of solid sushi options in Dallas, but IWA has quickly become my family's favorite. It's a small, atmospheric sushi bar and grill who's menu balances tradition and Texas fusion in such a way to do justice by both. If you're looking for a new place to try, IWA deserves a shot.
