We started with good chips and salsa, a solid sign at a gourtmet Mexican establishment. Rojo y Verde, if you know what I'm saying. I was slightly thrown off by the slab of butter that was accompanying the salsas, but I digress. I order a miller lite, perhaps due to my neighbor at the table doing so before me and the lack of a drink menu. My miller comes with a frosty glass that I appreciate, although the miller is 12 ounces and the glass only 10. We quickly switch our focus to the food menu and we start with a sample appetizer plate for 8. Slightly off put due to the fact I've never ate quail, I grab a piece of quail, boy was I surprised. A tender, small, charred chicken like wing with plenty of juices satisfied my taste buds in a swift fashion. Next, it was time to order our main entrees. Surrounded by a table insisting on the filete cantiflas, I suppose it was difficult to make an unbiased choice. The cantiflas arrive and the confusion builds in my head. Have they butterflied a filet and filled it with cheese and butter? Had I read the menu, I'd have known they had done just that. With a fork stab and a knife cut, I see butter and cheese spill out of what was once a perfectly good cut of steak. Disgusted, I take a bite, and, realizing this is all my fault, I think "that's what the menu said it was." All in all, this review my be a direct result of my lack of fine Mexican cuisine, but really I'm confused, and a tad bit insulted someone would stuff a filet with cheese and butter. Everything besides that was good.

Javier is a not nice. Sorry I’m from colleyville went all the way there and I’m don’t live in highland park. He was soooooo unbelievably snotty and rude it was obnoxious. No humanity the guy I don’t like. Food doesn’t add up to the bad service and arrogance complete arrogance of its owner

The host station was a bit dismissive toward my wife. I had the Mole Chicken. The sauce was outstanding, the chicken was very dry. My wife had the tenderloin and it was delicious. We did the cinnamon coffee fireworks after dinner, our server was awesome.

Great Mexican food, not Tex/Mex. Chicken and fish were fantastic. Exceptional service. A little pricey but worth it.

This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. Javier's is tucked away at the end of McKinney and the beginning of Cole. Busy nights will have a valet line backed up to the street and a parking lot full of exotic cars. The experience of simply arriving to Javier's in my opinion is exciting. And then you walk in. You're immediately transported to a Mexican hacienda, bustling with people eating, drinking and celebrating. I recommend a reservation, as I have never been and its not busy. As you walk to your table you dance from room to room, all beautifully decorated, you begin to wonder what's around the next corner. People will be laughing and having fun, private rooms will be filled with larger parties and you won't be able to stop yourself from looking around and taking it all in. The food is outstanding and authentically Mexican but menu items may differ from your traditional fast casual Mexican or Tex-Mex places. The food is expensive but fair and there is a good variety of elevated items, some of which they prepare table side. Start with a margarita and a panela. Grab yourself a nice steak and wine. Then finish with tres leches. Come ready to spend and leave super satisfied. And then, if that's not enough, go to their cigar bar, and finish the night with a drink and a cigar in their private lounge.

Little pricier than most, but we'll worth it.

Javier’s is like no other place around here. Came with my husband for date night & it was fabulous!!!! I strongly recommend the smoked chicken nachos. They were incredible. You could taste the smokiness in the chicken. The presentation was wonderful as well. Our waiter was great but unfortunately did not get his name. Service was top notch and he made fantastic recommendations. We got to talk with him for quite a bit and it seems like he really loves his job. Manager stopped by to check on us as well which always stands out in my eyes too. Once we were finished eating we headed next door to the cigar lounge for another round of drinks and my husband got a cigar. Such a cool vibe!!! This place is a great spot for date night. Highly recommend! I have literally not a single complaint except that we didn’t find this place sooner!!! Will be making this our regular date night spot. Thanks to everyone at Javier’s for making our experience 10/10!

A Dallas staple of a restaurant. Busy every weekend and never disappoints. We order carajillos to start, lots of great appetizers. Our favorite being the ceviche. No shortage of margaritas. We love the red snapper and steak options specifically. Service has always been friendly and helpful, we always ask for menu recommendations and favorites.Make sure to leave time to hit the cigar bar afterwards. We save room for a smoke and desert in the back. Tres leches & flan are favorites.
