I got the Impossible Bun to start and the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen. Both were DELICIOUS!! So flavorful. My husband is a picky eater who's so-so about ramen and even he was impressed with the spicy creamy (with the chili oil on the side as he is less heat tolerant). Jinya also has a nice ambience and good service. My only note is that I wish their staff were more knowledgeable about the vegan options, or that "vegan" was on the key. Their special starter was caramelized cauliflower, which sounded amazing, and when I asked the waiter said it was vegan so I ordered it-but then she came back and said it wasn't, only vegetarian, but she couldn't say what made it not vegan. It's strange that a place that goes so far as to have vegan mayo apparently doesn't have any vegan vegetable options. But-a small complaint when what they do have is SO good!

I have been to two other locations. The ramen at this location is way too salty. I ordered the tonkasu original, there is no garlic powder listed in the ingredient (unlike the tonkasu black), but there is an overwhelming amount of garlic powder in my ramen. This is the second time my ramen is too salty, I don’t think I want to come back for ramen again.

The food is just simply not good here. I got the spicy miso pork ramen and seaweed salad. The ramen was the worst I’ve ever had, no miso flavor, no spicy but very salty. The 5 dollar ramen kit in the grocery store would taste so much better than that. Also the seaweed salad is a scam, only the top(3 bites in total) is actually seaweed salad then they put spring mix at the bottom. That’s new to me…..If you want some authentic ramen, you’ll be disappointed 100%

We had a great experience overall during our first time at JINYA, which happened to be on Valentine's Day. Ramen bowls for dinner run about $18 a bowl typically, but they were running a special for 2 bowls of ramen, 2 non-alcoholic drinks, and potstickers for $40, so we took advantage of that.A couple highlights:- the atmosphere was really beautiful (well decorated for a small square footage) & great outdoors seating as an option as well- while the night was busy, servers were prompt and friendly- ramen bowls were delicious (we got the classic tonkatsu bowl and the black tonkatsu bowl)- we opted for the impossible meat potstickers just to try it out (instead of pork) and I would 100% get them againA couple of things they could improve:- their lemonade is basically country time lemonade so i would pass on getting that again- we never got a refill on our other drinks throughout the night so we were a bit disappointed about thatOverall, would definitely come back again and try out the other multitude of ramen bowl options they have on the menu.

It’s really exciting to finally have a high quality ramen option in Preston Hollow. This new location for Jjnya delivers on almost all fronts, with delicious ramen and dim sum served in a small, sexy space. Nearly the entire menu is well-executed, but the Jinya Black ramen is a standout. Service here is the only minor letdown. The staff tries hard, but it’s not quite as polished as I’d like. That said, it’s a minor gripe and this is my go-to for ramen in the area.

This is by far my favorite ramen but I hesitate to come here because every time someone enters or leaves, the workers yell. That is very annoying and unpleasant. The whole point of me going out to eat is to relax, and it’s impossible to do that here.

It’s one location of the grand brand ramen chain restaurants. The restaurant interior and exterior were clean, neat and with warm woody interior design. The atmosphere was good for friends to hang out. However, the food was just not that impressive. The Red Garnet and the Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen were ordered. The presentation was fine and normal. The broth was good; the pork chashu tasted tender but was kinda lack of flavor. Also, the ramen portion was a bit small, so based on the quality and the portion, it’s quite pricey. The JINYA Bun tasted good but it’s fusion style; not traditional pork belly bao or gua bao, so I would not take it too seriously. The interior space was actually small for setting up that many tables. I felt it’s really crowded during the lunch time. Also, the table was too small to have 3 entrees, one appetizer, 3 drinks and the sauce sets all together, if you were not seated at the booth. It made me feel uncomfortable to enjoy the food and time. Our server was friendly and polite; he tried to make some conversation with us. The manager or the lead was around and instructed the crew members on serving tables. But he did not engaged the guests and there was no smile on his face all the time.Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options on the menu.Parking: There are some restaurants and stores to share the parking lot, especially the Trader Joe’s, it’s sometimes difficult to find the parking.

The bottom of the bowl says it all. “No Ramen, No Life.”I love me a good bowl of Ramen, but after dining at Jinya, that belief was solidified. My evening with Oldest Daughter and Son-In-Law was at the Preston Hollow location in Dallas, a very Tony neighborhood that had me drooling at the walkability to everything I might ever need. OK, $4000 rents maybe not so much, but I digress. We started with drinks…a margarita for Oldest Daughter, and a Medicinal Grade Hazy IPA (from Community Brewing) for SIL and me. This was followed with a couple of apps, the vegan Brussels Sprouts Tempura for me the resident vegan, and Nikuman (steamed meat bun) for my progeny. They were decadent each in their own way.Our mains were the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen for me, Spicy Chicken Ramen with seasoned egg, garlic, and wok chow for Oldest Daughter, and Chicken Ramen with seasoned egg for SIL. There was an instant hush as we dove into our meals, because conversation could wait. It was that amazing. The entire experience was enhanced by a server who knew his menu through and through, making informed pointers to us along the way. We all know how frustrating it can be to ask a server a question, and then they haven’t a clue. This guy nailed everything.I know. A Ramen Bar sounds like college dinner for the champagne set, but this is far better than anything you ever prepared in a microwave in your room or apartment. It’s an aspiration, not just survival. And…be forewarned…it comes with a price. Our dinner, drinks, tax, and tip came to $145 for the three of us, so this is not your undergrad days. But it is so worth it, and Jinya aims to grow from 52 locations to more than 200 in the coming ten years. That’s good news, because I will happily give them my money. Remember…”No Ramen, No Life.” These guys are life-affirming.

Having been spoiled by SF Bay Area ramen joints for many years, we were excited to try something as renowned as Jinya. Sadly, both our bowls missed the mark on depth of flavor, ingredients, and texture. We tried the Tonkotsu Spicy and Shio Yuzu. There was nothing truly wrong with either bowl, just felt like both broths were missing a depth and complexity that I can't really describe, but that other places we have frequented in the past, do have in their broths. And I thought the chashu in each was too soft and not very flavorful. For the ramen novice, I do think this is a good place to go to be exposed to "real" ramen, I really do. It's just not phenomenal ramen that we'd crave and return to often. If you're looking for such an exposure, I recommend starting with Marufuku (Frisco) which is a sister restaurant to the one in SF or ya know, Japan. SF is closer and cheaper, but not by much haha. We also tried salmon poke tacos (HH) and takoyaki...both of which we've had much better. So all around: meh.
