Our server was amazing! He said he manages during the week and serves on the weekend and he was awesome!

Always a pleasure dining at JOA Korean BBQ. October promotions made the experience even better

The service was horrible. As soon as we sat down, our server rushed us to order drinks, but then it took her over 30 minutes to bring my drink. Mind you, it was my birthday. When the food came out, two signatures were missing, and it took her another 30 minutes to bring out our guests' food, which by then we were done eating. To top it off, when we asked for the checks, it took her over another 30 minutes. Not to mention, when ordering drinks, my friend ordered a bottle of wine, and she kept asking if he was sure that he wanted a bottle of wine multiple times, almost insinuating that we couldn't afford it! Horrible experience food was good though

They accommodated our larger party so well and did such an amazing job helping us celebrate a birthday.

Having learned that this establishment is a sister restaurant to Nuri, our expectations were naturally set high—particularly regarding attention to detail and the overall guest experience. The food quality was excellent, especially the beef sourced from 44 Farms, which showcased thoughtful ingredient selection and proper execution. The cocktails, while enjoyable, leaned a bit too sweet and could benefit from more balance to complement the dishes. Where the evening fell short was in the experience itself. Despite the strong foundation in food, the ambiance felt inconsistent, largely due to music that clashed with the restaurant's intended atmosphere. This disrupted what could have been a cohesive dining journey. At checkout, there was a discrepancy between the bill total and the amount charged to the card, which left a questionable final impression. From a hospitality perspective, more focus on guest engagement and storytelling would elevate the concept. Guests should leave not just satisfied, but connected—to the story, the team, and the brand's identity. Our server, though polite, was unaware that Nuri is featured in the Michelin Guide, and even unfamiliar with the term itself. This reflects a missed opportunity in staff training and brand alignment. The restaurant has clear potential—excellent ingredients, solid execution, and a promising concept—but it needs deeper investment in service culture, communication, and team knowledge to truly deliver an experience worthy of its lineage.

They were out of multiple items. Took over hour for raw food to come out. Ordered drinks that needed reminding to bring out after 35 minutes. Will never step foot in there again.

I've been here before and this is my second time but never plan on returning. Horrible experience overall especially in regard to the service.

A completely enjoyable experience, great food, great service and ambiance. The fried dumplings were scrumptious, the meats of high quality and the portions just right. Korean barbecue at its finest. We will return.

I never leave reviews, however, after my experience last night I had to.

I have dined at restaurant across all of the Dallas Metroplex and I have never experienced a restaurant so welcoming and hospitable to the guest as joa!!

Hands down one of the best hidden gems and restaurants in the Dallas area!! Well done!

Yazan was an excellent server. I brought my in laws who didn’t speak English. He knew a word or two of their native language. Pleasant surprise. He was also very thoughtful, bringing my MIL chopstick holders when he saw her struggle.
