Thai curry has always been one of my favorite types so I was super excited to try jungle curry at Malai. They had many different types of Thai and Vietnamese dishes from noodles to soups and whole fried fish. On weekends they even have Asian style brunch dishes! The shrimp jungle curry (kaeng pa) was different because it is prepared without coconut milk. It definitely brought out the flavor of the curry and was pretty good but I personally prefer the creaminess of curry with milk in it. The flavor was pretty spicy and the veggies were good nonetheless! The pad kee mow had a nice smokiness to it and the noodles still had a nice chewiness to it. I also enjoyed the assortment of veggies and it had lots of tender beef in it as well. I requested 3/5 spice which was around 75% spicy for me. The shrimp lemongrass soup had a tangy, sour flavor to it and was spicier than expected. If you like Tom yum style soups, you will enjoy it. It came with some rice noodles in it as well. They had us try some rice wrapped in a leaf - the rice was slightly hard but the sauce on the side was very good! The peach ginger iced green tea is good if you like a more mild flavored drink and Thai tea is always good to pair with spicy food! They had lots of seating indoors and outdoors --the patio was great for a mild evening out. Service was excellent and the server was super nice. It's also located in a nice area with lots of boutiques and restaurants to walk around and sightsee.

Me and my fiancé usually order to go here about once a week because we love the food. However, after over a year of living here we decided to go in person and was amazed. Anthony had great service and recommended a new dish that we haven’t tried yet. They also have a great happy hour with house brewed beers. We love Malai!

I'm from way out of town and I'm still thinking about the sea bass and rice noodles I got here a few days ago. Absolutely delicious.

The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and offered a good variety. We enjoyed the chicken satay with three skewers and the Shishito Peppers in a basket, although they weren't my favorite. However, the yellow curry was absolutely divine, and the mango sticky rice was outstanding. I would come here for that alone. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and the atmosphere added to the enjoyment.

Loved everything but the drunken noodles were a little over cooked maybe they tasted very mushy. Our server was awesome but didn’t appreciate getting given a check with one total, handed over payment, then got a receipt for payment after gratuity was added. I’m fine with gratuity especially for stellar service, but that seemed deceiving

We "found" Malai while in town for a wedding and ducked in for dinner the night before. Ate at the bar and had the best drunken noodles and crispy noodles! Also loved the Hanoi Highball and Malaysian Martini. Their presentation of mango and sweet sticky rice for dessert was awesome. We went back the next day for lunch (a rare thing), and Reed and his crew again did a terrific job hosting and feeding us. I highly recommend Malai if you're ever in the area!

Unfortunately, I can only give this place 2*. It was my first time here, and first, I was impressed by the atmosphere. I liked it. Everything went well until I ordered my main course. I got a vegan Pad Woon Sen, no tofu. The plate was literally full of noodles and some veggies. Barely, you were able to find them between the noodles. And it didn't come vegan because they added egg. It's not my first time trying a Pad Woon Sen, but this was the worst presentation I've ever had. I didn't even want to taste it.Instead, I asked for a Drunken noodles, and this was tasty but very poor in veggies. They barely add any veggies in their food. The service was ok, but our waitress didn't bother to offer any discounts or anything else for the inconvenience. She just offered her apologies. The dessert was yummy, and the presentation was cute.I'm not sure if I want to go back.

Omg the food here was great, really surpassed our expectations. So flavorful and everything was cooked perfectly. I would gladly return back, some of the best thai food I've had in a long time. Our server Cassy was great as well
