Fried fish is over cooked.small portions, and do not order to go. Then they really short change you.. it use to be my favorite place to go in dallas for catfish
I was here today 4/3/2020. Ordered the 8 piece shrimp dinner and the 1 fillet and 4 shrimp. Potatoes and corn, strawberry margaritas. Paid 41 bucks. The food was horrible, the hush puppies was doughy inside, the fish and shrimp was grainy, the corn and potatoes tasted like they came out a bucket of water no season at all. The drink tasted like straight lime juice. The price was good is all I can say. I will never eat there again. Was not worth it.
I love all the Awshucks and Big Shucks restaurants, I am just so angry they have not put one close to south of 20!None of the following cities have a Shucks and it's a shame and this is my reason for a low score: Lancaster, Desoto, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Grand Prairie or even Arlington!
I certainly did not have a 4.5 star experience. This is a hole in teh wall kind fo place which is okay. Order at the counter and pay on the way out, I started with a fairly bland bowl of shrimp and sausage gumbo, very disappointed, My entree was the pick three basket, I chose coconut shrimp, crab cake and fried oysters. The shirimp was tough, the crab cake mostly filler and the five oysers about the size of a quarter. I also got some hush puppies that were decent but didn;t have much flavor. They had four beers on tap, $3.50 for 12 ounces.
Food was made quickly, served hot & very tasty. Both my husband and I enjoyed it. Pretty good price too.
Aw Shucks is just what you would expect from a seafood shack, has the vibe of a place right by the beach, serving fresh seafood on a big plate. I had the Shucks platter for two, which included 1 lb of crab (I got a mix of Dungeness and Snow crab), shrimp, sausage and corn and potatoes). Everything was delicious, although I would've preferred it without the seasoning which has a bit of spicy kick. Good value and great meal.
We ate as a family of four. We had outstanding service!! Food was phenomenal. Started with raw oysters. He said they were great!! We had a basket with coconut shrimp, crab cake and chicken fingers all was delicious. Kids had popcorn shrimp said it was good!! And we had the skewer of shrimp rice with rice and veggies ahhhmazing!! Definitely a must for seafood in Dallas.
Finger licking good shellfish served simply. No gimmicks, just awesome food is a really cool setting with super cold beer. Perfect.
Checked out Aww Shucks w/some friends & it was reminiscent of something you'd see beachside. The crab legs were good, however the place was tight, tables were very cramped & parking was minimal. I had to park several blocks away in the adjacent neighborhood & walked.
Casual oyster bar with excellent fried fish options. Perfect for a hot day with a cold beer. They also have an oyster happy hour weekdays from 3:30-6:30. In the spring, try the crawfish!

Always fresh and always good.
This was our favorite meal on our long weekend in Dallas! Crab was perfect, shrimp was delicious and oysters were some of the best we’ve ever had! Atmosphere was unique and staff was super nice! Will for sure catch them next time we are out West!
I went to Aw Shucks to get some crab. I found them online when I searched for places to get crab by my motel (Market Center). I saw the menu online and the prices were reasonable, so we gave it a try. It’s a little hole in the wall type place, with no parking available to speak of, but the food and service totally redeems its somewhat shabby appearance. My husband I both ordered dungeness crab, while my daughter ordered coconut shrimp and crab cakes. The crab was PERFECTLY cooked. Came right out of the shell with very minimal fuss. The coconut shrimp were HUGE and yummy with orange marmalade sauce. One word of caution - They cook everything on the "Boil" Menu in the same water which has cayenne pepper in it. I am allergic to cayenne pepper and didn't know there was cayenne pepper in the water, and I ordered corn and potatoes as a side. I took one bite of the corn and was on fire and couldn't breathe. We asked the manager Dianna about it, because I ordered not spicy specifically. She was so apologetic and took a huge discount off my meal since I couldn't eat the sides. The meal was amazing though in spite of the spicy corn/potatoes. I will definitely return for the best crab in Texas!
