Mesero at Preston Hollow Village offers a dining experience with a mixed bag. While the drinks are okay and the food falls into the average category, the atmosphere might lack vibrancy as the place was empty. On a positive note, the service stands out as commendable. If there aren't better options nearby, giving it another try could be worthwhile.

I usually the love the food here, but tonight it fell a bit flat. My sister had the carnitas - overcooked. I had the fish tacos & they were bland - definitely could have used some salt. Service was great as always, as was the ambience. Maybe they were just having an off night.

I came to the Mesero because of the reviews but I was left confused after just a few bites. I got the ceviche as a starter and the El Miguelito as the entree. The ceviche had so much Jalapeno you could taste nothing else, no citrus, no tomato, no creaminess from avocado, just Jalapeno. The enchiladas that came with the El Miguelito were almost inedible, bafflingly the sauces on both the enchiladas, the Oaxaqueña(sp?) And the tejana, were sickeningly sweet. I bit of sweetness with mole sauce on the one is understandable but both sauces were so sweet they took any savory aspect away. The meat inside of each was also so dry it was hard to swallow without water. Similarly the "brisket" taco was dry and completely flavorless. The mezcal mule was poorly mixed and tasted like a campfire with no hints of ginger, grapefruit or lime. The atmosphere was nice and clean, upscale, and spacious. My server was attentive and understanding. I can't speak for the whole menu but the food I received was abysmal, and I don't plan on returning or recommending this place.

My Expresso martini was only half full when it was brought to the table. I made the server take it back but the replacement was only half full again. Won't be ordering that drink again.

Solid lunch spot. Or dinner really. Love the fish tacos. The salsa trio is yummy and the margs are pretty solid too. Everything seems a little fresher than your standard Tex Mex set up.

Fun atmosphere! Great service. Excellent cocktails and wine selection. Delicious food options, beautifully presented. All this made our special evening dining a pleasant experience.

Mesero is EXCELLENT! The food is good quality, very tasty and the service impeccable. They are happy to see you when you arrive, happy to serve you while there, and happy to see you when you leave - inviting you back. Go for the service, but stay for the food. The chips and three dipping sauces are really good; wish I could skip them, but doing so is impossible because they are so good. The enchiladas and various sauces are really good and seem healthier than most Mexican restaurants because they are not crema or queso based, save the sour cream sauce (more like a queso crema), which I do not order because it is so thick and rich. Great place, great ambiance, great food and an enjoyable experience. Do not hesitate to go to Mesero Preston Hollow.

We love this restaurant. The dishes are so unique and always delicious. This time we had bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer then the braised pork for the entree. We shared both. There was plenty of food and we were stuffed at the end. The shrimp was excellent with nice crispy bacon wrapped around it. A homemade habanero ranch dressing was in the side and was amazing. The pork was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. It was served on a bed of mushrooms, onions and bell peppers. It was bathed in the most delicious sauce ever!! The meat was tender and juicy. I just can't give it enough compliments!! The place is noisy which makes conversation difficult especially for me as I'm hard of hearing. Service was ok. Our main server was not outstanding but another person who brought a cocktail to the table was kind enough to take out order and deliver it to the table. Excellent experience. I've never had anything bad at this restaurant. Highly recommended!!
