Monarch is hands down one of the best dining experiences in Dallas.

The ambiance is stunning—elegant, warm, and perfect for a special night out.

The service was attentive and every dish we tried was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The pastas were exceptional.

If you're looking for an awesome atmosphere to celebrate a big milestone, this is it. Celebrated my wife’s birthday here recently and was blown away by the decor and the skyline views. The food was solid and well-prepared. It’s a high-energy, beautiful space

I recently had dinner at Monarch in Dallas, and overall, it was a decent experience. The absolute highlights were the stunning views and the vibrant, lively atmosphere inside. It really feels like a special spot to spend an evening. Our waitress, Joi G, was wonderful, attentive and friendly, which definitely added to the experience.

On the flip side, the food was just okay. I had the King Salmon with asparagus and whipped potatoes out of those, the asparagus was the best part. The potatoes were fine, but the salmon, which was cooked medium well, lacked the flavor I was hoping for. We also tried the rigatoni alla vodka, which was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. In summary,

My wife and I went here for her birthday. Although I was pretty excited to try this restaurant, but after tonight I doubt we will go back. Don’t get me wrong the food is worth it and I don’t think it’s over priced. I will even say the that the servers here are top notch. The things that bothered me was after we arrived and learned that monarch has window seating, I spoke with the hostess who said they could change my reservation to accommodate, however initially was unsure how long the wait would be. Eventually we were told that it would be approximately one hour due to all the tables already being occupied with guest who had just begun ordering. My wife and I was like ok we will do a regular table. Well, after walking through the restaurant, I counted 4 booths that were unoccupied. Two of window booths remained unoccupied from before we were seated until after we left.

Now on to my biggest issue, when looking at the drink menu do not expect the price shown to be the same price as what’s on your receipt. I ordered a bourbon that was approximately $40 per the menu, paid $118+.

When asked about it the server basically shrugged and was like welllllll. It was my wife’s birthday and no way was going to make it a big deal. But figured I could write a review and at least make attempt to notify future patrons of monarch to stay cognizant.

THE PLACE TO PROPOSE!!!
My fiancée and I are absolutely blown away by the night we just had! First off, amazing staff. Everybody seemed knowledgeable on the menu, our server, Thomas, went above and beyond tonight, and the food was amazing!!!

We had the course meal for dinner. Everything was delicious. My fiancée’s favorite course was the tuna carpaccio and mine was… hard to say but I think I’ll go with the Foie Gras. Huge shoutout to the chef, amazing course meal that you put together sir.

As for the atmosphere? 10/10. Great intimate lighting, beautiful view, and 10/10 with making sure my proposal was a success! The manager even showed us around a little after our dinner and gave us a wonderful, celebratory espresso martini!

Definitely will be coming back, and like I mentioned earlier this is definitely the spot to propose. The only downside of the night was that I spent too much on the ring and didn’t get to tip my man Thomas what he deserved. I’ll be back in March though.

I did not get the opportunity to try the food because I was refused service due to my outfit. I was wearing a business casual attire, nice sweater, jeans, and dress shoes. I was told that the restaurant requires collared shirts.

The staff offered me a jacket to wear over my sweater, which I declined. I prefer to dine in my own clothing, especially when I am already dressed appropriately for a business casual environment. I then said I would prefer to leave, to which the manager responded, “If that’s how you feel, you can leave.”

This interaction was disappointing, especially on a Wednesday night when the restaurant was nearly empty. The attitude and lack of flexibility were unnecessary and unwelcoming. Refusing service over a sweater, despite being well dressed, felt unreasonable and handled poorly.

Unfortunately, because of how this situation was managed, I cannot comment on the food. First impressions matter, and this experience left a very negative one.

This was my first time at the Monarch, I now understand why it is highly recommended.

The calamari and meatballs appetizers were delicious! As you can tell from the pictures, they were delivered to that table with such great presentation.

I am very particular with veal and they nailed this dish. The veal was thin and cooked just right. Accompanying this with mushrooms was awesome.

The atmosphere was energetic, yet comfortable.

I will be back.

I had high expectations for this restaurant given its reputation, but the experience fell short across several key areas. Service was slow and disorganized, with long gaps between check-ins and little urgency from staff. For a restaurant operating at this price point, that’s a miss.

The food presentation was solid, but execution didn’t match the hype. Flavors were underwhelming, portions felt inconsistent, and timing between courses was off. Overall, the experience did not justify the cost.

This place markets itself as a luxury dining destination, but the operational follow-through wasn’t there. With better service training and tighter kitchen execution, it could improve, but as it stands, I wouldn’t return or recommend.

I wanted to thank Denise for making my birthday sooo special. She made our whole experience magical. She took the time and was so helpful with pointing out gluten free options. This was our second year going to The Monarch for my birthday and we love the atmosphere, the view, the food and of course, the service is phenomenal. Thanks again, Denise!

Do not waste your time or money. We had an 8:45 p.m. reservation for a window table with a $125 per‑person minimum, yet by 9:30 p.m. we still had not been seated. No manager or staff member provided any update during the entire wait. Only when we stated we were leaving did someone suddenly claim the table was “almost ready.” With fixed two‑hour seating blocks and a required spend minimum, this level of disorganization is unacceptable.

The valet operation was equally disappointing—chaotic, unprofessional, and poorly managed. The waiting area felt unclean and did not reflect the standards of a reputable restaurant

Overall, the experience was defined by weak management, subpar service, and an atmosphere that failed to justify the hype for a restaurant that markets itself as “Michelin Recommended.”
Dallas has far better dining options. This one is not worth your time.
