Absolutely loved everything ! No notes. We ordered the ricotta focaccia as an appetizer and for the main: 10 oz wagyu steak, short rib Bolognese, asparagus, and the mushrooms! Absolutely delicious

High above the city with a view to match its ambition. I ordered the wood-fired octopus and lobster spaghetti. Both dishes were bold, flavorful, and plated with flair. Service was theatrical yet attentive. The setting makes it ideal for a special night out—elevated in every sense.

We came to celebrate a birthday - but wouldn’t advise if you are wanting anything special for a celebration. They do nothing extra/different from a regular dinner. Have gotten better “birthday celebration” treatment with a far lower price tag if you are wanting to make someone feel celebrated.
BUT food was awesome and atmosphere was beautiful.

Great date night. Amazing views, vibe and atmosphere. Definitely a place to see or be seen, but they found us a great spot with a little bit of privacy and the best views. Server was great, sommelier was helpful and patient. Food was very good and served piping hot. A little pricey....have to commit to a minimum spend to get best seats in window....but worth it when you do the math. Looking forward to going back when in Dallas.

We really enjoyed our 23rd anniversary on this evening. Window 🪟 view seating on the 49th floor just added to the ambiance as our meal lasted through sunset to nighttime views of the city. Be certain to make online reservations as this place gets booked pretty quick. Victor our host was super on attentiveness and recommendations. The food, drinks, wine and dessert were all great.

Dining on Top of the World.
Monarch, the wood-fired Italian concept perched high on the 49th floor of The National in Downtown Dallas, promises a luxury dining experience, and it delivers on every front. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this would be a memorable night, defined by world-class hospitality, breathtaking views, and genuinely remarkable cuisine.
The service, without question, was first class. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring the pace of the meal was flawless. Her professionalism shone through the details—she communicated clearly about the menu and ensured every course, down to the appropriate order for the food, was served with prompt, expert timing. It elevated the entire evening, turning a dinner into a truly pampered experience.
The cuisine was simply amazing, starting with the star of the show: the Wagyu beef. The specific cut was—an exceptionally high-end selection from the wood-fired menu—it was the best steak I have ever had, bar none. The intense flavor and perfect char truly highlight Monarch’s mastery of the wood-fired hearth. We also enjoyed two outstanding pasta dishes, including the Whole Maine Lobster Spaghetti with its delicate chili and butter sauce, which was excellent, and another incredible pasta that was equally memorable. Every dish felt meticulously prepared and deeply satisfying.
Adding to the perfection is the atmosphere, thanks to Monarch’s sky-high location. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide an incredible vantage point, allowing us to see far across the Dallas skyline. It’s an ideal setting that manages to feel simultaneously lively, elegant, and romantic.
Monarch is more than a dinner reservation; it is an indulgence. For anyone seeking impeccable service, a stunning view, and a meal of a lifetime—especially that Wagyu beef—Monarch is the pinnacle of luxury dining in Dallas.

When we first arrived at Monarch, we had a rough start with the host, but the Manager Efrain Nativi completely turned the experience around. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, personally checked on us several times, and made sure my boyfriend’s birthday dinner felt special.

Efrain’s genuine care reminded us what great hospitality looks like. Thanks to him, what could’ve been a bad night turned into a beautiful one. We truly appreciated the way he handled everything!

Monarch, Thompson Dallas – Sky-High Italian Royalty
Rolled up to the 49th floor post-Sheraton, skyline twinkling like it knew I was coming. Wood-fired magic: grabbed the short rib Bolognese (comfort food on steroids) and meatballs that could launch a thousand ships. Cocktails? Sinfully smooth. Service from Juan was on point attentive without the hover. Views stole the show, but the food sealed it. Special occasion slayer. 5/5—Dallas's crown jewel.

Been wanting to try Monarch for quite some time after hearing of its recent accolades. Went to celebrate with my fiancée and we had a phenomenal experience. Everyone was kind and accommodating, the ambience and view were astonishing and our server Keaton was a treasure- Personable, knowledgeable and passionate. He helped guide us as we considered what would be best for an all-around experience as fellow fine-dining employees and lifelong foodies. Elevated but never stuffy or pretentious in his manner of speech and suggestions. We will definitely find some time and a few excuses to come back and celebrate again. Thank you Monarch team ~
