Mot Hai Ba is a gem in Dallas. This small, unassuming eatery absolutely delivers big on flavor and experience. The duck is phenomenal—perfectly cooked, rich, and deeply satisfying. And the garlic noodles? Easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere: savory, aromatic, and impossible to stop eating.
What really stands out is how this place captures the spirit and flavors of Asian-rim cuisine in a way you rarely find in an inland U.S. city. Every dish feels thoughtful and dialed-in. You can taste the care.
If you know, you know—this spot is special. Cozy, delicious, and worth going out of your way for. Possibly one of the best takes on Asian-rim dining you’ll find in the U.S., period.

Wonderful experience! The staff were all knowledgable, welcoming, and friendly. The food was truly unique. The Stuffed Leeks and Shaking Beef were phenomenal and stole the show. The flavors blended so well together. We cannot wait to visit again soon and try more dishes we were interested in!

10/10 experience around the board! Upon entering, we were sweetly greeted by a host who made us feel welcomed to our table with complimentary wine & a lovely card on our table to celebrate our anniversary. This was our first visit and our server Mia helped to guide us through the menu and the best way to enjoy each dish. I'm vegan & was given a menu that explicitly showed the options available for me which was super helpful. The entire service team was incredibly helpful and made our night nice and special <3
Simply put, it's my favorite and arguably the best restaurant in Dallas. Must try: rice cake, shaken beef, garlic noodles, bao buns, chocolate cake

This restaurant truly never disappoints. The flavors are always creative and interesting, and the garlic noodles never miss — they're a must every single time. Every dish feels thoughtful, well-executed, and genuinely delicious. I especially love coming here because the seasonal menu is always changing, which makes me excited to try what's next on every visit. Our server, Mata, is always amazing — his recommendations are consistently spot on and really elevate the experience. I love bringing new people here because it never fails to impress. It's an excellent date night spot and absolutely worth the trip every time.
Everybody speaks highly of this place, and it lived up to every bit of the hype! Food was phenomenal, and Gabe at the bar did the best job guiding us through the menu and making our experience perfect. Highly recommend everybody check this place out!
The seasonings were perfectly combined for every entree. The service was superb. We can't wait to return, as there were other menu items we wanted to try but didn't order because we were a party of two. It was our first visit, so we ordered all their signature dishes: garlic noodles, Shaking Beef, Branzino. They were all deserving of the high praises.
Food and service are excellent. Our waitress had an excellent command of the menu and made many outstanding suggestions. They ran out of the apple tart by 6:30 pm...so I'm not sure how this happened as only one guest had left prior to us since we had an early reservation. Seems unlikely that they ran out. Overall great experience. Consider valet parking option.
The entire experience from friendliness of staff, exquisite savory dishes , to the quite intimate setting.
I came in to have a light dinner,
Am limited in what I can eat due to dietary restrictions so had to keep mostly to starters, so had 3 starters and a drink.
The bao was fantastic, wish I would have had 10 of these.
The swiss chard tampura was very nice but not exciting, good in between dish.
The kimchi wrapped rice (dolma like) was just not tasty and very disappointing. I LOVE dolmas and kimchi so had high expectations, but this felt like a forced fusion.
Maybe my experience was off as didn't have a main, but felt that I spent a lot of money for an OK meal.
Good staff, great atmosphere.

Mot Hai Ba is one of the best culinary experiences Dallas has to offer. The dishes are creative and flavorful. Fantastic cocktail and wine menu. Attentive service. Intimate space with ambiance to spare. I absolutely love this restaurant.
Amazing food. Depths of flavor. Creative dishes. Highest level of fresh quality food. Great service and energy from front of staff. Just overall great experience.
One of the best restaurants in Dallas that my wife and I have gone to. Made a reservation for the next time before we even got the main course.
If you are looking for a place to blow your mind, THIS IS THE PLACE!!!
Every dish was better than the other!! 10 stars but branzino is the best.
We were served by Emilio, he is by far, one of the best servers in DFW. Highly recommend!

Wow! This place was amazing and our server Matah made our evening even more special. He was incredibly attentive without being overbearing and made us so excited to try all of the wonderful food. There were six of us so we tried eleven dishes.
One of our group had a shellfish allergy so Matah brought out a menu with different colored dots next to every “safe” entree - and made sure we all knew which ones were safe.
Cocktails were fabulous and quick to arrive. My husband hates gin but the hen and hive cocktail was delicious as promised!
We had the baby carrots, garlic noodles, Swiss chard tempura, beets and ricotta, stuffed leeks, eggplant curry, branzino, shaking beef, dauphine ravioli and the short ribs and we would order every single one again. It was such a fun and delicious evening!
We all look forward to going back again!
