There’s something truly special about this neighborhood gem, one of my all-time favorite sushi spots in Dallas. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by the friendliest, most hardworking team. Scott and the entire staff create a warm, unpretentious atmosphere that makes the experience feel personal every time.

The space is cozy, full of charm, and the kind of memories that only come from a place that’s been beloved for years. As for the food, the ginger dressing alone deserves its own fan club... I could drink it. Menu standouts include the beef tataki, perfectly crisp fried oysters, shrimp tempura, and the rich and flaky hamachi kama. My husband is a fried rice aficionado and he would call it some of the best he's had anywhere. The combo boxes are a smart way to sample a bit of everything and don't forget some green tea ice cream to finish the meal.

This place has been around forever for a reason, it’s a true Dallas staple that never disappoints. :)

This cozy sushi restaurant keeps all the good memories of me and my boyfriend’s dating history. He took me to Mr. Sushi while we are dating, and we went back as a couple. He always ordered Mr. Sushi roll and recently discovered Gyudon to be his favorite.

Nothing bad but nothing special and pretty pricey. Very quiet, quaint atmosphere and great service. The sushi was nothing to come back for... Really unimpressive as far as options and the rolls appearance and quality.

I ordered the Tigers Eye as one of my choices. The chef cut it to be about 1/2”-1/4” thick. Literally. Unable to be properly picked up by chopsticks. The chef was a funny funny man the entire night, very entertaining at the sushi bar. But, if I am paying don’t be an ass and take away from what I am buying. All other rolls were of normal size. He asked if I ever had Tigers Eye before, I said yes. When he served it he said “oh sorry looks a little thin, let me remake.” He didn’t remake it and instead giggled. I had a great time, I did. But don’t rip me off. I enjoyed myself, but that came with a price of laziness I reckon.

We went to Mr. Sushi for date night and had a great experience. Our server was lovely, prompt and helpful. We got the sashimi dinner and rainbow roll and both were delicious! Everything tasted super fresh and we really enjoyed it. We ended our dinner with rum cake and ice cream that was also wonderful.

The most authentic and enjoyable sushi in the Dallas area.
The kind of place that the Toyota family that's runs Toyota Motors comes and eats at when they're in town.
The kind of place that's been here 40 years and the same people run it. It's just that good.

The quality and freshness does not justify the name or cost. After driving 8 hours, we decided our meal in Dallas, should be sushi. Given the reviews, and previous experience, we went there for dinner. The fish are cut too thick, so as to taste like you are chewing an.oversize tasteless gummy bear. We tried Nigiri, and rolls and each got worse and worse. Like come on....the fish was not fresh and seems of very low quality, like something you would get in your locale grocery store. The Chef could tell, it was bad, cause he would not look at us as we called it quits, paid and left. Quite frankly this experience may have killed a 25 year pallette for sushi, having been to Japan 9 times and experience exemplary sushi culinary. Hopefully, they improve.

Mr. Sushi is a great place for very fresh traditional sushi. The wait staff is very good at suggesting options and explaining what is what if you're not sure about something on the menu.

Could not have enjoyed the experience more. Everyone was very kind and welcoming, and our server Carlos did an outstanding job. The sushi was top notch especially for the price, and the variety of options was amazing. Carlos made an amazing and custom recommendation based on my tastes and I could not be happier. Perfect spot for a date night or night out with friends, and the atmosphere was unique, calm, and enticing. This will be a regular visit for us.

Despite all the nice reviews, I would love to give 4-5 stars if one of the staff was not so unprofessional. I don’t know her name but she is a Japanese lady with short wavy hair.

I don’t live here in US so I don’t know the culture of tips and all these stuffs. I’m so sorry If I was rude because I didn’t do tips. I have been traveling to Japan and they don’t accept any tips, for them it’s rude.

But hey.. at least be professional. The lady was so nice to me until she saw that there is no tips, she started to look at me with a very mean face expression, shaking her head like I was begging for food and that’s so rude. I felt like she was faking smile to me all those time..

I’m sorry to give 1 star. Everything else was nice but so disappointed at the end.
