The difference in dining these days is summed up in one word: service. In DFW, there are a multitude of good restaurants. Places with good food and a solid selection of wines with enough variety and quality to solve most dining requirements. Last night, we were in downtown for Morton's for example. Great name and very good dinner.....Tonight, we visited Nelson's. Dollar for dollar; dish for dish; service for service... we prefer Nelson's.Bryan and his team, although running short-handed, made it a perfect evening. His selection of Scotch is, for my taste, perfect! The wine list, though short, is full of tremendous options. (We are fond of Washington wines and thus were tickled to see the 9 Hats as on option!) Since they were running bit short staffed, we took time at the bar for a wine before getting seated. Well laid out and fun.When we were seated, Anna took care of us in every way imaginable. He knowledge of the menu was impeccable as were her suggestions for dinner. The deviled eggs are a great mixture of sweet and savory. The bacon wrapped shrimp are flavorful and dynamic. The crab cakes were cooked to crusty perfection.The 44 Farms ribeye exceeded my expectations and the spring mix salad was FANTASTIC! The serrano vinaigrette is worth the trip. My wife's red snapper was superlative.Quit overthinking it. Go. Eat. Enjoy.

Fantastic food and great service! Prices were very reasonable for a steakhouse. I had the sirloin, and it was very tender and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere and decor are nice, but not at the level of what the food is (usually the other way around!). It was cold outside the night I went, and the dining room was pretty cold too. I would suggest warmer lighting and on cold days, a warmer temperature. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

If you are looking for a great meal at a good price, check out Nelson's. I've driven by for years and had my doubts about trying it because they never looked busy. Now, I don't understand why they aren't packed. The food and drinks were amazing and the service even better.I almost didn't write this review because we love the fact that we were able to get a table on a Friday night at 7. If you aren't sure, definitely check it out. It is worth it! Steaks are cut fresh daily. If you don't feel like cooking one night, call ahead and pull through the drive thru to get a great meal.

The service and food is 5-star! Love this place. Like a hidden gem, always can walk in and sit down on Friday or Saturday night around 6:30, that is amazing for around here.
Service was impeccable. Food was above decent. I enjoyed the lobster and crab dip with house made chips. The dip was more cheese base and not cream based. I also had the fried catfish and fries. The catfish portion was small for the price. The food was fresh.

The staff here is absolutely wonderful, so warm and welcoming and attentive. Food came out super quick. My only gripe is that the lobster sliders were fishy, but my server brought out some complimentary remoulade, tartar, and lemon dill sauce and I finished it all. She also gave us a complementary dessert. Try it out!

Nelson’s is a one of a kind. The owner is the chef and making sure everyone is enjoying his cooking. He takes it personally. He stopped and skipped with my daughter. That doesn’t sound like anything but you do not find that personal touch anywhere now days. Do yourself a favor and stop by…. The best food you will taste!
Brian has really good food, service, staff. Restaurant is clean and nice, but NOT pretentiously fancy, Menu is small, but has good variety of unique and very tasty items to suit just about anyone'sfood preference. Everything I've had is of highest quality, while still reasonably priced. Thomas always provides exceptional service. Everything that comes out of their kitchen is great. I must give extra credit to Mike for consistently cooking the big diver scallops perfectly!!Last visit, my dinner guests (who were "first-timers" at Nelson's) completely cleaned their plates while raving on and on about the meatloaf, appetizer combo, fries, etc.Nelson's has full bar and small but reasonably priced wine selection. Every time I've dined at Nelson's was considerably better than just a "good" dining experience. I had the pleasure of eating here last Saturday night and let me tell you it was fantastic! I can't think off the top of my head another restaurant that serves elk tenderloin (which we had, along with the fall off the bone ribs) and it did not disappoint. 10/10 would recommend...also its a family owned local business which I love supporting! I took my wife here for her Birthday. This spot is a true gem, very reasonably priced and great food, steaks especially. I’m a “Steak-Man” and I’m not exaggerating when I say that Nelson’s stand side-by-side with Dallas’ more prominent steak houses, such as Bob’s, Ocean Prime and Ruth’s Chris. Nelson’s has that flavor like none other. And their Old Fashioned bourbon drink is the best I’ve ever had in the Metroplex. Try them…You’ll see.
