The catering manager was excellent with great follow up. The food arrived on time with a confirmation that day. As we expected it was delicious and high quality. Thank you OTB! It lived up to our expectations.

Not your typical black barbecue place. The service and the atmosphere was amazing however, the food was horrible. I should have known better when I didn’t notice any smoke coming from the building or any piece of foil in sight. Doesn’t compare to the real black bbq that actually smoke their meat and spend more money on their food instead of the containers.

I’m very disappointed in the quality in the slice beef and links, wasn’t as tasty or fresh as my last visit. For the price I expected better.
Hopefully it will be better on next visit
May the owners correct this due to everyone

We stopped in for lunch at this small, cozy spot. The staff were friendly, and the food was good. Nothing fancy, but overall a nice little place for a quick meal.

UPDATE:
Response to Owners:
Thank you for the response, but I do want to clarify a few things.
I did not order from the à la carte menu by the pound, nor did I order 30 Individual Pitmaster Packages. I specifically ordered the Three Meat Buffet Style Package for 30 people. When you offer catering packages, customers expect that those portions will be appropriate for the guest count paid for, not a conversion chart where a half pan of mac and cheese is somehow expected to serve 30 guests.
For $800, I expected full pans of each protein and enough sides to feed my group without running out after only 15 guests. Instead, what was provided was inconsistent and not at all reflective of a buffet package for 30 people. While you’ve explained your kitchen sheet and pound conversions, that doesn’t line up with what I actually ordered or what was promised by a “buffet” setup.
This was not about guests serving themselves too generously. It was simply not enough food to begin with. That’s what made the experience so disappointing, and that’s why I will not be booking again.
ORIGNIAL REVIEW:
I recently ordered catering from this barbecue spot here in Dallas for a group of 30 people, and I have to say I was very disappointed. Both with the food portions and the customer service. I paid $800 for this order, and it was nowhere near worth it.
The Meats
I ordered three meats and two sides. What I actually received did not make sense:
• 1 full pan + ½ pan of ribs
• Only ½ pan of chicken
• 2 half pans of brisket
For 30 people, I would have expected at least one full pan of each meat (ribs, chicken, brisket). Instead, the portions were inconsistent, and the restaurant wasn’t accommodating when I raised it. In hindsight, I should have had the pickup person double-check the order, but even then, the way they portioned it felt off.
The Sides
• Potato salad: Fine, not a crowd favorite, but passable.
• Mac and cheese: This was the biggest issue. They gave me only a half pan of mac and cheese for 30 people. It ran out after just 15 guests. When I called to ask, they told me it was “seven pounds” and tried to justify that it was enough. Clearly, it wasn’t. People paid to attend my event and couldn’t even get sides.
For context, when I originally ordered, it was for 18 people, then I added an extra 12 that same morning, making it 30 in total. Yet the mac and cheese was never adjusted fairly for the full count.
Customer Service
When I called to clarify, the staff couldn’t give me a straight answer on portion sizes and acted as though I should have known their “conversion.” They were inconsistent, dismissive, and unhelpful.
Final Thoughts
If you’re considering using this place for catering, I strongly recommend calling to confirm every detail before placing your order. Personally, I won’t be using them again. For $800, I expected enough food for the number of people I paid for, not excuses, short portions, and poor service.

The three meat plate at this establishment typically includes popular options such as ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, all of which were quite enjoyable. The menu offers a variety of side dishes, allowing for a well rounded meal. Additionally, the seating arrangement is spacious and comfortable, making it a pleasant dining experience. I would definitely consider returning to try more menu items.

Love it!
We needed a place to eat a quick dinner, close to Edison’s in Dallas where we were seeing a concert performance. We found Off the Bone Barbecue and decided to give it a try.
They are 1 minute from Edison’s. You can park at Edison’s and walk here or park here in their free lot.
Ordering is done at the counter. You pay when you order. Our meal was brought out to us.
My wife and I shared a two meat plate with two sides as follows:
- Pork Ribs (3 bones)
- Jalapeño Cheddar Cheese Sausage (1 link sliced)
- Baked Beans
- Mac and Cheese
- 2 Fresh Wheat Dinner Rolls
The service was friendly and the food was very good. The ribs were truly fall-off-the-bone, tender, smoky and tasty. The sausage had a bit of a kick and was also tasty. The baked beans were thick and hearty and very good. The Mac n Cheese was cheesy and decent. The dinner rolls were fresh and soft and I used mine to make a sausage sandwich :)
The pitmaster and owner, Dwight Harvey was there and was making the rounds of each table, checking with the patrons to see how their meals were. I got to meet Dwight and get a photo with him. Super nice guy.
I look forward to the next time we get to eat at Off the Bone Barbecue and I will be trying their Brisket and Turkey.

Doordashed the food was absolutely delicious. I like the way they staple your food to so the dasher cannot get in.
