Good coffee. Cool setting. The service? Meh. It’s weird - the people who work there just don’t seem very happy. I don’t need much, but a smile every now and then would be a nice touch.

I’ve been here a few times and recently I’ve been disappointed with the quality of the food and service. I ordered a matcha last time and it tasted extremely watered/milked down and it barely had any ice in it. Today I got a smoothie and I could tell that they weren’t sure how to make the smoothie and were having trouble with the consistency. The smoothie separated as soon as I walked out of the coffee shops and had barely any flavor just syrup and ice. I ordered a Kolache with it and it was stale and tasted like it had been sitting there for a few days and had reheated it. I’m disappointed, especially since I used to really like the coming here and the quality used to be good. Also, my smoothie was covered in coffee ground in the lid and bottom of the cup.

Always love to support local indie coffee shops while I'm traveling, but this one is not worth it. I was originally excited, as it looks like they support the music scene, but the service is soo bad. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and latte, and after watching the two young workers catch the oven on fire, and give their friends free food for over 20 minutes, I had to bail. Hope the owners can get some slightly more competent help, seems like a great space.

Note: Reviewing as a coffee shop, not live music venue. If coming for coffee shop, note that during live music events there is sometimes a charge (not sure if it’s every time, but when I was there it was $15 to stay once the live music started, I wasn’t there for the show, so I had to leave).

I love the ambience and decor style here and the drink menu has a lot of options. Comfortable seating options for relaxing, reading, studying, hanging out. I like that they stay open late, although I was bummed when I had to either pay a cover charge or leave once the live music started (I had arrived before that and ordered my drink without being told that I’d have to pay or leave shortly, so I was already seated with my drink and book and all, and then when the music started someone came and said I either needed to pay for the music or leave).

One reason I like the location is that it’s easy walking distance from the DART station (Cedars station, red & blue lines).

I can't say enough about this place. The service is top notch. The coffee was delicious, and the atmosphere is really fun. I could sit for hours just looking at the art on the wall. If those walls could talk in there, I'm sure it would be a great story!

Super cool spot came here during the day. Saw the stage and would love to come see a show the coffees very good but I ordered avocado toast and was chatting with the people behind the counter. They forgot my second egg and happily gave me another one, but I asked them how they were making it because I never seen an egg quite like it . turns out they are microwaving it in a bowl and scrambling it, which I don’t mind, but it was extremely salty and peppery and then turns out that there’s half-and-half in it which is someone who does not eat dairy would be good to know not necessary

Just love it here! Service is always fast and friendly. I enjoy the food and atmosphere. As a performer, I have got to say that Opening Bell is one of the best listening rooms in North Texas (definitely the best I have performed in). The audience is always receptive, appreciative, and supportive. I enjoy it as an audience member as well. Come by and see for yourself.

Excellent place for coffee drinks, food, and live music located inside Southside On Lamar!

Cool looking place, but couldn’t try the food or coffee because they only accept card. A physical location that doesn’t accept cash? wack.

I have passed by this spot for months on the route to my vehicle after leaving a class in the same building. Today, I decided to turn around, go downstairs and try some of their fare. We enthusiastically walked in, and was not greeted, acknowledge OR offered service. We stood at the counter for about a minute watching these two women hold a conversation. We rotated all 4-5 five desserts on display to gain a better look. We continued to stand and watch them talk. My son was not pleased, and I was appalled at their lack of professionalism. I will NEVER return to this location!! They suck. They never stopped talking. You won't stay in business long with employees or owners like this!!
