I'm so glad I rediscovered this spot. Loved the calamari, and pasta was great.

The GM (Miguel Hernandez) has one of the worst attitudes on this planet: he saw me and my family come into the establishment and instantly starred his nose up, once we arrived, he literally acted like he was deaf and said what after not one thing, but everything we said, the restaurant already had a busted door so we didn’t understand where the attitude was coming from. Me and my family ended up leaving and going to Half Shell right down the road, I wouldn’t recommend this place to no one

Casual Italian restaurant located in a busy but quaint little area. We were surprised by how much we liked the food! The atmosphere was very chill, but very busy with dine in guests and to-go orders. We definitely hit it at a good time. We started with the fried mozzarella triangles, very good but also filling, could only eat one. We also had the bruschetta, which was easily one of the best I've had in Texas! Absolutely delicious, light, full of flavor, with lightly toasted pieces of bread. For dinner I had spaghetti with a bolognese sauce, it was good, but not my favorite, the sauce seemed a bit heavy on the nutmeg, similar to the lasagne which was the choice of my husband. He liked it a lot, but again not my favorite. My son got the spicy vodka sauce pasta and hands down the best entree. We ended with coffee and a slice of tiramisu, delicious. If you like, there is a full bar too. Highly recommend!!

I have never personally dined in at Penne Pomodoro. I have had some of their food through a friends DoorDash order. I speak very highly of their menu. Unfortunately, management there is a bit stingy and ill tempered. In the two times I went to dine in, I did not get a comfortable vibe from the management, so I did respectfully leave. The environment is not a place I feel comfortable in. But their food is out of this world.
Excellent pizza, very good crust with good service.

Marnie waited on my party of 4 and was extremely overcharged as 2 of us ordered a $20 meal and the other 2 ordered a $25 meal, and we split a $7 appetizer and all got water. Marnie took our credit cards before bringing receipts and we all got charged $30 even. Disappointed considering the food was good, will never be back.

Scout was amazing. However, the service was very slow. It took a very long time for the food to come out.Wheelchair accessibility: My father is very unstable on his feet. The parking and curb made it difficult for him to get in and out if the restaurant
Had the red snapper it was good. Service is terrible, atmosphere is not good. Bread wasn’t good. Ordered a craft of red wine, was charged wrong waitress argued with me. Will not return, Italian restaurant down the block much

Great food and service. We went as a group of 10 and everyone ordered different items and very pleased. The red snapper is awesome.

Ordered via Uber eats and it was the first time in a long time that my order arrived from any given restaurant on time and warm. My wife had the chicken Parmesan and thought it was very good. I had the stuffed shells which I also thought was very good. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The dish wasn't overloaded with spinach and was quite cheesy and tasty. I do think $17 for 5 stuffed shells is a bit pricey though. We received one thin slice of bread which felt like an afterthought, and with two dishes, as simple as it is, two slices should have been included. Overall, pretty good Italian option.

We dropped her daughter off at SMU last week, and we all went to Penne Pomodoro and had gluten-free pizza and gluten-free pasta followed up by an espresso & cappuccino. We just spent 2 weeks in Italy with AMAZING food & were ready to be disappointed, but Penne Pomodoro was wonderful. Omar was our waiter, he's super cool, & we'll be back. And then: My Benchcraft pocket knife fell out of my pocket but I didn't notice until the next day, and I called and Lauren found it wedged in the cushion of the seat I was in and she mailed it to me in San Antonio. Above and beyond. I highly, highly recommend this place with great food and even better people. :)Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free food.
