We’ve been going to Pepe’s Y Mitos since they opened on Elm. They were a few blocks from my store. We loved them better when they were on the corner with the corner patio (hence the atmosphere rate. I also understand they had to expand.) I miss the waiter Arturo. But most of the wait staff follows in his spirit. The wait staff are top notch. They make the best spinach quesadilla. My favorite is the fajita-beef chimichanga. The tamales are made the way my people do them - smaller...
They start you off with home cooked tortilla chips and delicious salsa with a kick. We split the carnitas, and the owner swung by the table to offer hand-made hot and fresh tortillas... OMG, I forgot about all the troubles in the world. My cares melted away. Everything felt right. I'm so freaking happy right now. Thank you! I'd post a photo, but I ate it all.
My friends and I stumbled in there accidentally, not knowing they were about to close in five minutes . Regardless, the waiter took our order and the food came out quickly , and it was delicious. Thanks for the great service and food when other people would be mad!
