Cooking Borscht

I was in Dallas, from Canada, visiting my son. We went to the Farmers Market where I bought a tin of the sauerkraut borscht with mushrooms. I can honestly say that it is one of the best soups I’ve ever had! I made it with smoked sausage and it was absolutely delicious. I was so surprised by how full it was with chunks of potatoes, delicious shiitake mushrooms, and of course sauerkraut. I’m only sorry that I didn’t bring home a suitcase full!

I got a kit for Christmas and we absolutely loved it. It was the original with beans. I added chicken and a few more vegetables to the ‘recipe’ and it was great! The packaging is so cute and I ended up giving the little tin to a little girl I babysit at Jazzercise for all of her precious little finds. She loved it. We’ve bought 3 more, one to give as a gift and 2 to make and enjoy! Anxious to try the sauerkraut one. Super fast and easy dinner.
