I was slightly underwhelmed by Pillar. The atmosphere inside was very neat but the service was weak and the food was good but not amazing. We started off with the grilled leeks and beef tartare. The beef tartare was fantastic and the best item we had that night. The cook on the potatoes was excellent and the toppings were delicious. I have never had a dish like the leeks but also found it enjoyable. It is a very complex mix of flavors that go well together. I thought the fried chicken was going to be the star of the show but just didn’t love it. The breading was ok on it and I didnt love the nduja sauce. Additionally, the corn bread brioche it came with was very dry. Overall, the starters were pretty solid at Pillar but the pricing, service, and entree makes me unlikely to come back.

Danny at the bar is incredible. I had the Tuna Tartare and the Short Rib Agnolotti. Both chefs kiss.

Had the sweetest quiet evening at Pillar. Such a beautiful new addition to the Bishop Arts District. It’s quaint and tucked away, the kind of intimate little spot that feels like a hidden gem. Definitely giving wine… and I want to get to know you energy with soft conversations, lingering eye contact, no rush.

The menu is eclectic in the best way, with flavors that keep things interesting. My absolute favorite? The Nashville oysters. So good. The perfect balance of bold and fresh.

If you’re looking for a cozy, low-key night out with great food and even better vibes, this is it. Bonus: they have happy hour also.

Henry was our server and he was absolutely amazing.
His menu knowledge is A+ SO ID GO WITH WHAT HE SUGGESTS! We came in to celebrate our anniversary and from the service, ambiance, presentation and taste we are fascinated. 10 stars, truly.

Pillar did not disappoint. If you love Mot Ha Bai, you'll definitely love this spot too. The food was phenomenal and everything we tried was so well done. My only note would be that I wish they explained the new concept or gave a little more insight into what the menu is about — it would make the experience even better.

FUTURE JAMES BEARD AWARD WINNER. The food was complex and memorable and even after it left your palate, it does not leave your mind.

This place is cute and the food is fantastic. Went for brunch and anytime they have shrimp and grits on the menu, I’m always going to order it!

Came here for valentines day, they had a prefixed menu which I normally don't love, but we ended up trying everything on the menu and we enjoyed every bite. We will definitely be back after the holiday to experience their full menu. Service was also on point, loved that they replaced our plate and utensils after each coursing.

The food was very good just small portions. Our weight staff was very nice and not hurried to move us along.

We've made it our tradition to celebrate Valentine's Day early — fewer crowds, better service, and more time to actually enjoy the evening. This year, we were excited to finally try Pillar for the first time. We had heard good things and went in with high expectations. Unfortunately, it ended up being a bust. Even though it wasn't Valentine's Day yet, the only menu available was a Valentine's prix fixe — and notably, it was not the same version advertised online. That was our first red flag. We had looked forward to specific offerings, only to find a different (and very limited) selection upon arrival. The only entrée options were rabbit or a potato chip–crusted fish. Adventurous? Maybe. Appealing to us? Not quite. Neither of those choices were something my husband or I particularly enjoy, and for a celebratory dinner, we were hoping for something we'd actually crave. We decided to order a cocktail and an appetizer instead. To be fair, both were good. Well-executed. Enjoyable. But not memorable enough to convince us to commit to a full meal from a menu that just didn't excite us. Thirty-five minutes later — still hungry and now slightly underwhelmed — we paid our tab and walked down to Lockhart's for brisket. Because let's be honest... this is Texas. You've got to have some beef on the menu. Right? All in all, it wasn't the romantic early Valentine's dinner we had hoped for. We might give Pillar another try if the regular menu returns, but first impressions matter — and this one left us heading straight for smoked brisket instead of dessert.

I’ve been here once before and the service was 10/10. Our server the first time was stokes, she was incredible with food and drink recommendations she made. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday and stokes gave us a complete EXPERIENCE. not just service. Because of that experience we came again, but this time around was a little disappointing. It seemed like they didn’t have much support staff, we never saw a manager, and it was lackluster at best. If you go to this place to try, request stokes. She will blow your mind!!!

The leeks were a standout as usual, service for the rest was a little slow but good overall.
