Visit on Christmas DayThe place was busy and there were only one person running the bar plus tables, and another server handling all other tables. Our server was also the bartender and had his hands full. We paid about 30 after finishing our food and waiting for the check. I will not be commenting on service, just the food.Free chips and salsas on the table- the darker red salsa is their house sauce. Don't expect to get any details on what's in it because it's a secret and so good!Had a large bowl of queso which was $12. It was honestly the size of a cup instead of a bowl and not worth $12. I ate with 5 other adults and it was barely enough for us to share. Tasted good, but would not get again as it seems costly. The cup of chicken tortilla soup $7 was delicious. Made extremely well. The fajitas come in a really nice tower stack and the presentation is fun. Both chicken and beef fajitas were made well though I prefer beef after trying both. Chicken $21: Beef $23If I'm going again, definitely getting the brisket enchiladas- hands down my favorite dish of the night with the meat being cooked to perfection! $15 and one of the most affordable dishes of the meal.Primos MX Steak Frites were a bit of a let down ($28). Plain meat with fries- not impressive. Just a word of caution that they tend to overlook the meat, when we asked for medium, it came out medium-well.Quesadillas were $9 but you have to pay extra to add a meat. These are kid friendly and standard.Perfectly fried chimichanga, had a great taste but was really surprised that it was stuffed with sour cream? Also tried the churro pancakes ($13) which was a joke. Do not waste money on this item. Came with two stuffed churros (good) with legit plain regular tasting pancakes. So you’re getting pancakes with a side of churros... not that the pancakes taste like churros. Also our pancakes were burned on the bottom and the parts that weren't burnt didn't taste good. Just get the churros by themself for dessert.Rice was a bit dry and the beans had an interesting "mint" aftertaste that's hard to describe but wasn't bad.No free or reduced parking. $13 with validation in front of the Statler hotel, would have been $20 with no validation. Valet only accepts card for payment.

We had some friends staying at the hotel and ended up spending quite a bit of time here getting food and drinks throughout the visit/weekend. The staff were incredibly friends and knowledgeable about Dallas. The food was Tex-Mex and had a variety of options that tasted great.

We planned to stay at The Statler and host events at their attached restaurants and bars during our wedding weekend. However, we quickly left the hotel after checking into our room due to several issues. Excited to kick off the wedding festivities, we arrived at Primo’s. My friend and her mother had booked a private room several months ago for our bridal brunch. They were told our event was moved out of the private room because a larger party had requested it. It’s my understanding that a reservation for a space is first come, first served so this is completely unacceptable. They were not reimbursed for paying for a private space only to be moved into the main seating area of the restaurant. The service was also subpar for being attached to a 4-star hotel.

We came in for the lunch restaurant week 3courses for 24bucks. Awesome deal btw. The nachos were a great starter. I forgot to snap a pic. The best part was the dessert!

Brice was our waiter. Me and my friends came in the evening and the place was busy. He was polite and very charismatic. He took his time and we’re all charmed. We didn’t hav a single issue. Besides him seemingly being treated not very well by the other staff. We asked him what was up with that? He did not say anything rude about them in the slightest. Only told us he was new there and wanted to learn the restaurant. He seemed a bit out of place compared to what we were use to. It appeared to us as if he were only helping them. As a couple waiters/waitresses seemed to be struggling. We will make reservations next time and request only him. Food was great as well compliments to the chef. Thanks

Upon arrival the host was far from welcoming. After being forced to sit at the bar, it took the bartender 20 minutes to greet us. Appetizer came out cold and without chips because they had “a disagreement in the back of the house”. Entree was served without utensils and when asked for silverware, plastic ware was given. After the subpar customer service provided we requested to speak with the manager (Jason), it’s no wonder why they have such poor staff! His dismissiveness spoke volumes. Will not be returning to this restaurant or $400 a night motel (The Statler)

Husband and I just happened to drive by, looked inviting. First, you walk in, no hostess and you are greeted with air cooling machine...should have walked out then, but we love to give places we never been to. We decided just to eat at the bar, few tables definitely needed cleaned with a good ole rag with hot water and soap. Bartender was tending to 8 of us, which being lunchtime, I figured she probably could handle it. She gave us a menu, we asked about a few different drinks, sounds like she knew what she was talking about and even the food items. Took about 15 minutes for her to take our drink order, got some water after we placed the drink order. Not offered chips and salsa until after our drinks came. She definitely tried to act like she knew how to make the drinks, but we were wrong. Sherecommended the drinks we asked about...she had to get a book on how to make the drink...it was their specialty drinks.Food ordered and now chips and salsa arrive, pretty tasty salsa. We ordered the brisket enchiladas and pork belly FajitasTotally disappointed....pork belly seemed all fat, brisket tasted like roast beef. Our Fajitas came with 2 tortillas, we asked for 2 more since we still had enough for 2 more....we were shocked to get charged $2 more dollars...WHAT you charged what a whole bag at the grocery store charges. Even to charge, you only gave me 2 to start with. My jaw dropped to see that charge. We paid, tipped generous and we will not be back.

This past January, we hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner in a private room at Primo’s MX Kitchen Downtown and we left with a memorable event. If you are in search of a restaurant venue for a key milestone life event, do yourself a favor and consider this venue. In booking and coordinating the event, we worked closely with Paola Garcia, who truly made the entire experience memorable for us and our guests. The food, atmosphere, and service were exactly what we had been sold on. Paola went above and beyond in accommodating our last-minute guest count changes (thanks COVID), and she also took the initiative to design & print personalized high-quality custom menus for our event. In addition, a few of our guests had severe food allergies, which were noted by our server in advance and accommodated. We are still receiving compliments on our dinner, and we highly recommend Primo’s MX Kitchen Downtown!

The food was really good. We opted for the cheese quesadillas with peppers, onions, sour cream & guacamole! Very flavorful. Order nachos with chicken and they were tasty as well but they come on corn taco shells and not chips so we didn’t eat them because the corn shell flavor was a bit too strong and hard. If they came on tortilla chips they would have been amazing for sure. Maybe I can request it next time. The shrimp tacos were amazing. Very flavorful. The refried black beans and Spanish rice was also really good! The chips and salsa are great as well. I think they may have been short staffed like most places now a days but the service was still great. The manager waited and checked on us, the cook was very pleasant when he brought the food to our table. Another young lady came to check on us and apologized for the wait due to some confusion but things happen and I would for sure return to Primos for the food but also knowing that I will receive great service. I wish I would have gotten the mangers name that helped us because he was really really nice to my daughter and I. Thank you so much if you are reading this. We will return because of you! If you haven’t been you should give it a shot for sure! Located in a great area as well so you can walk down the AT&T Discovery Park as well to take some pictures and walk off the food lol!

Just all around terrible experience.Served me undercooked chicken. It was about 30 minutes before our clearly overwhelmed waiter took our drink order. Our drinks and food took 45 minutes to arrive...queso never made it.All this was annoying but tolerable, but then, after a few bites, I realized MY CHICKEN WAS UNDERCOOKED.I understand they are short staffed, but this was unacceptable.

Went here before a concert at the hotel last night. I thought we we lucky that our friend made a reservation since there was a 3 hour wait when we arrived. But the people who went elsewhere are the lucky ones. The whole restaurant was extremely short staffed for what seemed to be a normal busy Saturday night. Took 45 min to take our drink or food order. Another 30 minutes to get our drinks even after asking the waiter multiple times. The table next to us ended up going and getting two rounds from the bar before we even got ours. The "free appetizer" that was offered to concert goers never arrived. We were finally grateful when our food arrived until my husband noticed his chicken was visibly undercooked. Overall a terrible experience. I understand staffing is an issue all over but undercooking poultry is a serious health hazard.Your best bet would be to spend your time and money elsewhere.
