Puerto Cocina & Bar is a beautiful new restaurant and one of the newest additions to the Design District, fitting perfectly in the area. It is a fabulous modern Mexican restaurant in a stylish, modern space with a really cool vibe, offering tons of elegant choices. Readers should know this is not another Tex Mex joint but an eclectic, seafood-influenced menu. The food is amazing, phenomenal, and absolutely delicious, as beautiful as it is delicious. The seafood is high-end sushi quality in terms of freshness and presentation. Dishes like the chocolate clams—the only place in Dallas that has them—the raw oysters, grapefruit ceviche, panela salad, kale salad, steak, and really excellent lamb chops are all perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The meringue batons and margarita are also highlights. The selection of Mexican wines is great, from the sparkling rose to the Cabernet/Syrah blend. The service is amazing, impeccable, detailed, excellent, and friendly from start to finish. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting inside a nice, stylish space. Prices are reasonable. It is a great experience and deserves to be discovered, highly recommended.
