I agree with the woman below me I was also charged double for an order that should have only been $10.00 or so, I wasn't happy about it but because i tip anywhere I go I let it pass. The papusas were good especially the shrimp papusa, the rice was very tasty also, but the plantains were quite dry not very appealing. The service however was good, but that over pricing really upset me. Would give 4 starts but some improvements need to be made for sure. I will however come back for those papusas yummy! Came back a second time today, I'm sorry but the lady that always takes the orders is rude and I was given the smallest portion of rice ever, last time I had a decent portion but I swear these women are personally biased. NEVER AGAIN!

Horrible service take forever to get a pupusa plate (3 pupusas rice and beans) then they charge you lot more money than menu prices, menu price was 7.99 plus the drink (horchata) they charge us 13 bucks each one so be careful if you go there.

The food was good, but the prices were too much

I called to place a big order and asked if they made deliveries. The lady who answers the phone was rude and disrespectful. She hung up on me before I could even say much and screened my calls but answered from another number. Service is horrible and I didn’t even want to taste the food after that.

Super inexpensive and great authentic food. Good hole in the wall. Complaints about service are funny to me because you don't go to a hole in the wall for the service, you go for the food. It's small family run type place and they are in the back working hard to make the food fresh after you order it. If you want amazing service go to a crappy Tex Mex place. This restaurant is awesome.

Please make sure u see the prices on the book since wen u pay at the front they charge u something different my plate was 7.99 plus two drink 3 each total of 14 dollars lady charge me 22 dollars on my card basically took an extra 7 bucks. Rude server food is good but service sucks

These papsusas are legit! The green salsa is amazing!!!

Service was horrible! Unless you're a single guy going alone they will not really pay you any attention. They took almost 30 minute to make 4 popusas! And the popusas were like a 2 out of 10. Go somewhere else please!

This is a hole in the wall for sure but not a good hole in the wall... staff was very distracted joking and playing around the whole time being super loud. If you are looking to try Salvadoran food for the first time. Don't come here it will leave a bad impression on you. Food took along time to be prepared I waited almost 30 min for 3 pupusas. Food was 3 out of 5 salsas had no flavor.

By far the worst restaurant I've been to. Food was way over cooked. Literally burnt. Worst restaurant you could go to. Lucky I even gave a one.

Real down-home cooking

My favorite place for pupusas. Service can be slow at times, but definitely worth the wait. The shrimp pupusas are the best!

Absolutely filthy but delicious.

They take forever to make an order of 5 pupusas they had me waiting for 45 mins when they said they’ll be ready in 15 mins

I have to say that Los Gemelos can surprise you. That is the only snag I see in being a regular there. The service is not consistent. Some days you get amazing "above and beyond" service with a smile. And sometimes you get dry service from one of the cooks/servers. It depends on time of the day and the day. It does have the feel of the hole-in-the-wall place. The food IS authentic. The flavors are great. There is no real ethnic ambience. But there is an feeling that you have gone to a not so First World kind of place. I do hate that it is CASH ONLY. So take cash. As far as I know, no plastic is accepted.

My girlfriend and I visited this quant little place a couple weeks ago. Excellent experience. My girlfriend is well traveled. Loves exploring foods and she began to teach about the Salvadorian culture. Simple foods with excellent flavor! Highly recommend. Cost was $12.00 we shared 2 plates. Don't ask me to tell you what we ate. 😁

Delicious food and best of all prepared fresh at the moment, I mean, what can I say for salvadorian food this the place to go.

I think their food is good and it's cheap. It's definitely a hole in the wall so don't expect a luxury place. Also, my experience is that service in Latin America is typically not up to typical US standards so just expect that going in. It's not an Americanized Tex-Mex place. Also you can get by fine If you don't speak Spanish. There's one person there that speaks English most of the time and you can always just point to the menu to tell them what you want.

I’m from San Antonio, the pupusas revueltas are delicious. Restaurant is clean. Amazing place.

Food was good! Staff was horrible. All the workers were too busy socializing and flirting with customers -- including the cook. Orders of 2 pupasas took forever. Probably didn't help that the cook left the kitchen to talk and laugh with her friends at the cash register. When the cashier wasn't walking around socializing, she was too busy on her phone. Will not return.

This place literally sucks. I had learned of the place thru a friend who had a bought a coupon before hand and as soon as we got there we were treated with the worst service ever. They said they had no clue that there was any coupon on google (when mind you it's on restaurants.com). Then when they told us they "would do us the favor of taking the coupon" they sat us and paid some man in front of us to translate when he came to our table. The servers then continue to talk rudely about my friends and I as well as talked about raising prices since we were using a coupon, then one of the rudest servers with the worst sharpie brows finally came around after conspiring with the other servers and family who were just loitering around right in front of us -.- came to ask for our food. After I replied with my orders as well as my friends orders in Spanish they were shook. But didn't stop them from trying to swindle us as well as complain and yell at us for daring to use a coupon in their nasty sewer smelling establishment. The pupusas were bomb but not worth the skress and x3 pricing for light skin folk who they think don't understand what their are saying

Kevin M.

Restaurant staff nor owner even knew that they had an offer on restaurants.com and would only argue the coupon after they said they'd honor it. Rude staff, rude management and just overall dirty... and not to mention the place has a nasty sewer like smell. Also forget using the restroom while you're there.....

Good pupusas. Incompetent, rude, clueless staff. The place also smells like straight up sewage. Not sure what that's about. You decide.

Very inexpensive, simple food in a true hole-in-the-wall. Also, let me reiterate that you need to have restaurant capable Spanish. You can't go wrong with the pupusas. I had the shrimp with cheese, as well as the Loroco (flower), while my colleague had the spinach. All piping hot, and very freshly made. I also had the tamal, which is a hugely oversized tamale, with chicken and potatoes. Our very helpful server also brought along squeeze bottles of red and green sauce, and a large container of cole slaw. At $6 each (2 pupusas and 1 tamal for each of us), it was a very good deal, along with filling you up.Lastly, be warned that it is cash only.

The pupusas were delicious. The tamales were tender and delicious. The jamaica was delicious. This is the first pupusas restaurant I have visited since moving back to Dallas for sure and I will be back for more in the near future! Its one of the closest to my office and I will branch out and try more but this place was a very good start on my pupusas search of Dallas!

Jaci C.

Super delicious pupusas! Very generous proportions!! The aguas frescas were awesome and refreshing! We will be back!

Having lived in El Salvador for extended periods, I know my salvadoran food. This place is pure excellence.

I've only tried the pupusas so far. They were AMAZING! I got a shrimp cheese, stewed pork cheese, and a jalapeno cheese pupusa. The pork was sweet and salty. The shrimp had nice fresh flavor with a little saltiness and I think some kind of marinade, the jalapeno was fresh and floral with a nice kick. You eat it with curtido, which is pickled cabbage. This is a hole in the wall next to El Pinnocho. They are cash only. This is mainly a Spanish speaking establishment, but the menu does have translations under the dishes. You should be able to order even if you don't know much Spanish. They also do a deal where you can do an order to go of ten pupusas for 12.99$, which is a steal! On that you may want to call ahead of time as it could take them awhile to make. I'm going to try it out soon and I'll update on about how long it takes when I do. They offer other dishes besides pupusas that are Salvadorian. Come here for the food.

Their pupusas are AMAZING!!!! They're made to order and they have several kinds to choose from. The staff is nice and friendly. Like most places in Old East Dallas, it's a hole in the wall but don't let that deter you. The food is great. It takes a little time to make your food so be prepared to wait about 15 minutes but it's well worth it!!!
