Exceptional tacos and a huge menu to boot. Takes a while to order, but your food comes quickly after that.

Quite a relaxed first visit to Resident Taqueria in Lake Highlands. The upscale tacos were diverse in flavor and there is no shortage of vegetarian or pescatarian options. The escargot was sublime…melted in the mouth with a zesty citrus bite. The duck was equally delicious and my favorite so far. The mushroom fundido was a perfect starter with the hand made tortillas! Definitely returning soon!

This is a good taco spot. You won’t find authentic tacos here though! These tacos are creative. The restaurant is having fun making whatever kind of taco they want. The price per taco is also higher than at an authentic taco spot. I liked all 3 tacos I had. First time going but I’d return! Cool interior vibes, too.Found this spot on D Magazine’s 2023 List of 50 Best Restaurants. It was number 14! I personally didn’t think the tacos were good enough to be ranked that high on D Magazine’s list. Still try it though! The tacos are great here.

This place is foodie heaven... went on a Saturday evening, the place had a line out the door, but we still got good service in a timely fashion, and still got a place to sit and enjoy our tacos. There was typical fare, but I went for the duck taco and escargot taco. Man, that duck was lit! Staff was friendly and the place was clean and comfortable. Will be back!

After seeing rave reviews my expectations were high, but was sadly disappointed. May consider dine-in for a different perspective/experience.The online order menu is substantially reduced compared to inside the restaurant menu - was not happy to realize upon pick up.The carne guisada meat was far too salty. The meat was well diced and cooked, but the only seasoning experienced was too much salt. The tortillas are small, slightly over burnt, and loaded with lard/oil.Chicken meat was a bit too dry - needed salsa for better texture.Mexican fried rice was bland and very small portion. Street style elotes was somewhat enjoyable - too salty and also very small portion. The premium per taco is not a great value. Quality ingredients but misses the mark on interest of flavors or something uniquely desirable. On a rather disappointing note, a stray salsa lid was found in the order bag, not sure if it was fresh or trash as it didn't belong to a spilled salsa - jarring service.

Cute little family owned restaurant! I just wish they weren’t closed all the time. (Mondays and sundays, which unfortunately for me are usually the only days of the week I’m ever in that part of town. ?) And before anyone says anything, these are NOT authentic tacos! They are definitely inspired by other cuisines/fusion tacos, but they actually pull it off very well which is the reason why I keep coming back. (If they’re open lol) Their homemade aqua Fresca and salsas are always good and fresh. My favorite tacos are the cauliflower and pork belly. Oh how I miss the good old days when I only lived just a few mins away. ?
