You expect to pay more than average for a better than average restaurant. Here you do just that. My wife and i were not disappointed, but it could have been better. The carrot soup (the special) was outstanding- incredibly well balanced and subtle. The pork chop with bacon/potatto salad was more modest. The potatoe salad was more like potatoes and bacon grease. The potatoes were sometimes done or less than done. I didn't eat it. The pork chop was cooked perfectly- well seared and quite juicy. The "maple syrup/mustard glaze" was a puzzle-I couldn't taste much of either the maple syrup or the mustard. Off the mark, really. My wife had the salmon with spinach, "parmesan cream," and mushrooms. She described it as "delicious." We shared the special dessert: chocolate, peanut butter creme brulee. It was dark, scrumptious and very rich. Service was exccellent. I would go back tomorrow, but just because a dish is on the menu doesn't mean every dish is on the same culinary level.

This was our first time to dine at Salum, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The menu looked great, and we like that they changed the items regularly. The food was delicious - we had the pate, house salad, Beef Wellington, Coq au Vin and brownies. Our waiter and the rest of the staff were all friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back!
